Country Classics - Easy Guitar Songbook with Notes and Tab | 100 Timeless Songs for Beginners | Includes Folsom Prison Blues On the Road Again Achy ... and More (Easy Guitar with Notes & Tab)

I’m a beginner on the Guitar and I can’t read music so I look for easy Tab Books. When I say easy Tab I mean the complete melody with string numbering for fret and string to be played. Some books state easy tab but aren’t. In any case this one is and most of Hal Leonard books if they state Tab are tabbed. I’ve got about six months of Guitar practice time (3 or more hours /day) and I’m in my late sixties, so let’s face it I’m likely slower than some on the learning curve. At my current skill level I like to see the minor chords mixed in that this book has, it makes the song sound better and offers a bit more challenge. Of the 100 songs there are about 25 I like, and 15 that I feel are done well. The others I’m not familiar with, or just don’t care for. So over all I’m happy with my purchase and if you like the older country music song it’s very likely you will find enough song within this book that you will be satisfied too. I recommend for beginners that practice 5 or more days a week with at least 3 months or more practice.

Great collection of songs in EASY GUITAR TAB format. It also gives the chords and strum patterns, but I use it primarily for the tabs.

I will tell you exactly why this book is disappointing to me. I wish other reviewers were as clear. It’s not the lyrics and chord box or chord annotation on a page. That kind of song book is the only kind to buy.This is the kind of song book where you get a few lyrics per page, with full standard musical notes and words like glissando and tremolo and has all kinds of useless stuff to me.So, you get to flip 4 pages while you’re trying to chord and strum, hold book, keep book from closing, etc.nothing about this book is easy. It’s the standard guitar book written by a piano player, it inserts chords you do not even hear in the song itself. Passing chords. Leading and complex chords, with augmentations and suspended this and that. A guitar player didn’t write this lame book.

I think this is a good collection, but many songs go over more than two pages, so it is hard to sing along by just looking at it. That was the concern I had before ordering it and it turned out to be true. This can't be helped because songs are long and the book has TAB scores to allow a detailed study of the songs. It is a good collection and people will appreciate this songbook.

Personal use it has music notation and tablature and guitar chords with the music notation the melody can be played unlike some other music books that I have purchased on Amazon

This book has plenty of classic country songs. It wasn't the easiest to follow but I am just starting to learn guitar on my own (self taught). It is not the most basic for beginners.Decent selection of music though.

Good renditions of songs, easy, but good sounding when played. I like the way the melody is mixed with chords and doubles, Would like to see the same composition for bluegrass

Very nice Guitar book with 20p Country Songs, Various Artists and Country Song Singers Music, Very happy with the various songs and provides alot of songs with the words that are both old country and new country songs, love the Country guitar Classic easy play book and would highly recommend this guitar song book to others who enjoy country music.

Found this book very easy to follow both tabs chords strum patterns and finger picking

I love this book. Great songs. Some are easy to play and others will be a challenge but it's fun to practice them.
