Great watch, the best in the water, and the best countdown feature!
I have been buying this watch for many many years. It is by far my favorite watch. The Good:1: I LOVE the countdown timer. It is the best feature. Just one button to push to get a 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30-minute timer. Comes in handy a lot more than I would have guessed.2: It is simple and small and elegant (IMO), not big and bulky like some sport watches. I don't want to see a watch face that has 100 pieces of information on it. I do not need to know the moon cycle or what time it is in Japan when I glance at my watch.3: Fantastic water resistance: I work with dogs in the water and this watch never has a problem with the water or slobber or trauma it receives.4: Waterproof band: Since the band is not fabric, it doesn't stay wet or get gross. Since I am in and out of the water, this is huge for me.5: Price, The price is hard to beat. The not-as-good:(1) the band does not last forever. I have to replace the watch every few years because the band breaks (but as I said I am pretty rough with it and I wear it 24/7). I have never had the battery run out. I have kept ones that had the band break and the watch part on those STILL WORKS.(2) It does not have any backlight feature. I sometimes want to check the time in the middle of the night and there is no way to do this without finding a light source. But if you ask me those are TINY TINY downsides. Replacing a 10-15 dollar watch every few years is still better than

One Watch to rule them ALL!
This watch make and model has been part of my life for well over twenty years. I discovered it by accident and fell in love with the extraordinarily simple countdown timer Casio came up with. With a single button push, you get a 1-minute countdown. Two presses gets you a 3-minute countdown, three presses gets you a five minute countdown, and on through, 10, 15, 20, and 30 minute choices. I GOT SO SPOILED USING THIS SIMPLE, ELEGANT TIMER THAT I STARTED STOCKPILING the model in fear that Casio would discontinue it (why does that always seem to happen?). Any way, I used to go get, say two watches at Sears, and replace the cheap plastic band with a better, more resilient one immediately and then wear the watch until it eventually died years later. Usually these watches lasted several years through fairly rough use. They are pretty water resistant until you replace the battery after which I could never get the gasket to fit back in perfectly, but the watches trooped on along. Batteries lasted about 2-years each but unfortunately are not a much-used configuration/style these days and so I have found a supplier of those too and stockpiled about 10 or so. I truly love this watch and its simplicity. They usually die in a few predictable ways after years of dependability. If you change the battery, the watch often gets confused as to whether it is am or pm, so you have to confirm this before relying on alarm settings, but the timer is always dead-on perfect for me. The watch band is not long-lasting, but easy to replace with ones I like better. Age brings degradation of the display and eventual death, but it takes exceptionally long and didn't seem unreasonable for a watch that cost less than twenty bucks new. I liked this watch so much, I converted my husband who now wears one (albeit with a macho sports band...). And while I may sound like I am a paid shill of Casio, I ensure you that I am not. But perhaps I should buy stock, considering how many customers I have converted to this simple, little device. the idea that Casio may someday discontinue this model make me quake in my boots. How will I know when to turn the heat off my breakfast egg? Eeeh Gads!(P.S. Don't fall out of a boat in the Bahamas wearing this watch-it will die.... :(. Other than that.... Play away!!!)

I Keep Coming Back to the Same Watch
This is the most practical, helpful and simple-to-use watch I have ever owned. I have bought it at least five times in the past 10 years. Sometimes I think I want something "classier" looking and I buy a fancy watch, but ultimately I miss this one and return to it.It is an incredibly useful tool for those who need a "reminder" bell going off in the next 1 to 30 minutes. This is the only watch I have found that has a Countdown Timer right on the face of the watch. It is easy and straightforward to learn and to use. The top row on the face has seven choices of minutes listed: 1- 3- 5- 10- 15- 20- and 30-, Simply hit the top right button one time for the 1 minute, two times for the 3 minutes, three times for the 5-minutes, etc.I use the timer to remind me to check a cooking pot, return a promised phone call, check the parking meter before it runs out, leave my home or a store in time to make an appointment, and at least a hundred other ways.As for its looks, I think its small face and the blue trim make it more feminine and attractive looking than most other sport watches for women.I would like to give it five stars, but it does not have a light. In addition, as others have noted, the band is cheap plastic. However, the convenience of the Countdown Timer far outweighs the downside of no light and a cheap band.Although the band does tend to break eventually, the watch itself seems to last forever. But, my goodness, the replacement cost of this watch is so little that who could really mind. Just remove the band and keep the face as a handy timer and alarm in the car and at work. I have even taken a broken band off and given the face to a child who loved having it as a "pocket watch."I hope they keep making this watch -- there is nothing else like it out there.
