BOSCHPR011 Colt Router Plunge Base for PR10E/PR20EVS Routers

Another truly excellent Bosch product. The thing is well made and provides for accurate depth adjustments with ease. The only reason I am returning it is that it is a little too big for my (odd) purpose. I trust the Bosch name.

This is a well built plunge base for my older Bosch Colt10 trim router. Accuracy of depth, stability of base and easier handling are all attributes. I also like that is useful(needed) when using a circle guide. Definitely a 5 star must have.

I have been using a large plunge router for a long time. I owned the small Colt handheld for a while but had not really used it. Recently I did a job where the handheld seemed to fit and began to understand what it is about. Small and light, it is much easier to control than larger routers, but is very powerful for its size.When I saw this base, I decided to try it. Am I ever pleased. Just received it today, but when I began testing it I could not put it down. The little router can do pretty heavy duty work, and coupled with this base (and a wonderful edge guide/circle cutter - which I also purchased)it is a whole new tool. Precise, accurate controls, and a great feel in the hands make it a joy to use, and the quality of manufacturing is outstanding. Fit my PR10E router great. Used to make signs. Great addition to the router.

Its nice to have a smaller plunge router. And the base that comes with the Colt is not very accurate to adjust. While this base is more accurate to adjust it does’t have a dial adjustment that would make it much easier and more accurate to use. I would have paid more for such a fine adjustment.

This is a very well made base for the Bosch Colt router. I've got a larger plunge router, so this wasn't a really high priority for me. The main reason I wanted it was that my son gave me a nice Bosch edge guide, but it didn't fit the original base. The edge guide that came with the router was an uncharacteristically (for Bosch) poorly made sheet metal affair that wouldn't hold its setting and I wanted a better edge guide. This plunge base accepts the new guide. I haven't used it much with the plunge base yet and probably need more practice before I make my final assessment, but my son used it to make some plaques and he found it much easier to handle than my medium-sized P-C router in it's plunge base. It's definitely easier to install (and uninstall) the Colt in this base than it is to accomplish the same thing on the P-C. I found the plunge lock lever on this base a bit difficult, but suspect others, like my son, won't find it to be a problem. If you have a Bosch Colt, this is a solid addition that will open up new uses for it.
