Perfect replacement for OEM water maker
The water maker in my 20 year old fridge died. This was a perfect fit for the OEM replacement. Installation was easy. It took maybe an hour in total, but that was taking my time to empty the freezer, get the old unit out, install the new unit, clean the freezer side, and re-pack. I don't know what it would have cost to have a repair person come out and fix this for me, but It would have been probably 5 times the cost. The unit has worked perfectly for the last 6 months. Wonderful to fix a major feature for a modest cost.

Perfect fit
I was worried that this unit would not be a correct replacement for my old ice maker. It was a perfect fit and a super easy install. We are pumping out ice cubes again!

Works well with occasional hiccup?
Easy, cheap, quick replacement for my 30y/o Kenmore fridge. Makes ice and fills the tub. It may just be my perception, but -1) The ice cycle time seems to be slower than the original. But that's ok, it doesn't leak, and it makes ice faster than we can use it.2) I "think" the arm may occasionally get stuck in the up position when the ice tub is completely full. I have noticed it once or twice. Did I accidentally do it when I reached in to get ice?So far I am satisfied with the price/performance.

An excellent value!
I really don’t know which distributor actually sent me this ice maker, since the photo in Amazon’s description shows an instruction sheet with pretty poor directions; my ice maker came with a very good, detailed installation sheet. Most of these ‘universal’ style ice makers are all the same, anyway, only varying by the extras included in the box.Anyway, this ice maker replaced my original maker that came with my 10-year old Maytag French door refrigerator with an in-door water and ice cube dispenser. Because of the in-door dispenser, ice maker replacement was a bit more involved than those that simply eject cubes into an ice bin or bucket. I had to use the original wiring harness and original front module ‘white cover’, since the original contained a front ON/OFF switch. (This ice maker does not.) Additionally, since my Maytag’s ice maker water supply comes from a tube that runs on the top of the fridge, I had to use my existing “water funnel”, which directs the water from the refrigerator water inlet hose, into the ice maker. This ice maker states that it will not begin the ice making process until its internal thermostat reaches 10° F. To my surprise, that happened within about two hours after installing the ice maker. It then filled with water, and about 90 minutes later, ejected its first batch of ice cubes! About 12 hours later, I had a pretty good size batch of ice cubes! The metal bar that comes with this ice maker doesn’t hang low enough to turn off the ice maker as soon as I’d like. (I don’t like over filling the ice tray so that ice cubes fall out when the tray is removed.) However, the provided bar can be bent and shaped in order to accommodate your situation, to some degree. Since the original metal bar on my previous ice maker used an additional plastic extension piece – to further reach into the ice tray – I simply used that one with the new ice maker.Since I’m only 24 hours into using this new ice maker in my Maytag, my rating can only be based on that. The ice maker appears to be of equal quality to the original, it was easy to replace, and is working perfectly so far! For the low price, I’m very satisfied with the purchase!

ICE MAKER
THIS WAS A PERFECT MATCH TO REPLACE OUR ICE MAKER IN OUR ROPER REFRIGERATOR. HUSBAND HAD NO PROBLEM IN REPLACING...IN FACT, THERE WAS A VIDEO ON LINE ON HOW TO DO THIS.

Have to keep adjusting the arm
For some reason when the arm lowers after creating ice, it will not fully lower back to the spot to let the ice machine know to start the next batch of ice. It will create and spit the ice out but you will need to go in and push the arm down another half inch each time to start the next cycle.
