Beautiful finish
This was recommended to me by a woodworking craftsman. He makes custom furniture for rich people. I used it on 2 pieces. One was a rustic dining table that I wanted to look as natural as possible. It did not change the color at all, but seemed to bring out the wood grain and the finish is so soft to touch. The second piece is a nightstand that I used bright colored furniture stains on. It was bleeding on the objects I put on the table. I used this wax finish as a way of sealing the color. It not only worked well, but the finish looks so much richer and more professional. It looked like a home project before, and now it looks like something you would find in an artsy furniture store. It's completely changed the look for the better. And that creamy soft feel is amazing.

Surprising protection 💪🏾
To protect my iron gate, I treat it every year with Minwax paste. It creates a protection and nice sheen. The application is easy and non messy. I applied using a sponge and the paste dries quickly. One can will allow for 2 applications so I think it’s worth the $.

Great Finishing For Chalk Paint
This is my first time chalk painting furniture. I used this wax to finish two side tables - chalk paint(FOLKART Plaid 34159 Home Decor Chalk, 8-Ounce, Cascade) and wax brush(Chalk Painter's Choice - Professional Wax Brush {R15}). The wax brush was a huge disappointment, and as a beginner, I realized it better to use this with a simple wash cloth and not a brush. The first thing that made me very nervous about this finishing wax was the huge warning label that read "Contains solvents which can cause permanent brain and nervous system damage". This freaked me out and I used this on my balcony, kept it far from my face and tried not to breathe while using the product. If you've ever used it this way, you know it's fairly hard to use. After I relaxed a little, I started to notice the difference in made on my furniture. The beautiful tiffany blue darkened subtly, evening out and smoothing the paint. After a day of drying, it really made a huge difference to my chalk painted side tables. I like that it doesn't give my side tables an overly shiny feel. I don't want it to look like painted laminate, I want it to look natural, and this finishing wax does that in spades. This is also a huge quantity, the two side tables I used this on barely made a dent in the tin. I have plenty left for my future chalk painting endeavors. I have found chalk painting furniture to be a lot easier than any other paint and finishing wax makes it even easier. I think finishing wax makes using chalk paints even more forgiving than they already are, smoothing and evening out for that lovely finished look. I would recommend this for any new chalk painter. It's easy to use and give furniture a great and natural look.

Worth the Work
Deciding to use Wax instead of a poly coating was difficult the first time. It takes more time to apply, takes multiple layers and more. But the resulting finish can be worth it all. After the first time, I was hooked.I like the hard layer with a soft warm glow it adds. With MinWax paste finishing wax in neutral I can enhance the natural intensity of the color I used on the piece and still protect it. I can change the color of the wax, use less or more.Waxing is more a issue of time, desired finish and the way a piece will be used or displayed. It definitely makes you involved more than brush or spray on finishes. It is a easy, hands-on technique to do. Adds a true personal touch to the finish and your work. MinWax does make it easy!

Must-have in a woodshop
Paste wax has 1000s of applications in a woodshop. I use it to "grease" all jigs/tools with metal rails. For example, I use a log-holding jig to cut round log slices on a bandsaw. Adding a small amount of wax where metal touches metal improves the sliding of the jig significantly. It also helps a jig to slide in a miter slot. I use paste wax over some wood finishes to add that shine. Minwax is my go-to brand. This can lasts months. It's a great value and great product. I will continue buying this paste wax.
