Good flavor and you can control the salt
I got this to season lean 93/7 ground turkey so I could make my own, healthy sausage. It is delicious with just the right amount of heat. I used 1 tblsp for each pound of meat, a little extra Badia onion powder and kosher salt to taste.I kind of ordered this product when I was in a hurry based on ratings so when it arrived, I was even happier to read on the label that this is only seasonings, no salt. I knew it didn't contain MSG which is a showstopper for me but I didn't realize it had no salt. I love that. Most sausage seasonings contain excessive salt. I don't like really salty meats. I really liked being able to add my own salt to taste. This will make the product more economical for me since salt is not added as a filler. I would definitely order again.

Good for 35 lbs. of meat
For a good balance of flavor I would suggest around 13 grams of seasoning per pound of meat. Which means this pound of seasoning is only good for about 35 lbs of meat. This is based off a 75% venison, 25% pork loin mix for the meat and then 15% in added pork fat by weight. The added pork meat can help tame the gaminess and bind lean wild game meat without the need to add a ton of fat. The flavor is savory and not too heavy on the sage which can make for weird flavors with venison. It's also not super sweet like a breakfast sausage. I will definitely be buying this again.

Pay attention to keeping the meat COLD partially frozen makes a better finished product
very easy to follow directions. The seasoning is on the salty side. So we just cut the ratio in half. As we don't generally cook with or add salt. The flavor is very good! Not too spicy, just right in our opinion. We made a big batch of venison sausage. Using 2lbs of Boston butt to 1 pound of venison. Make sure you mix the seasoning onto the chunks of meat. Prior to running it through the grinder. That will make the seasoning easier to get evenly mixed.

Breakfast sausage
This seasoning makes really good breakfast sausage. We don't like sausage as spicy as some people do so I only use one tablespoon of Adkins seasoning per pound and added 1/4 cup of real maple syrup to a four pound batch. It turned out great.

First time sausage making
used to make fresh pork sausage as a beginner. this mix is flavorful. a little spicy if you add to much. the recommended amounts are spot on for me. I like spicy but not too hot. I would recommend this to anyone. use it and tweak it to make it your own but I don't think you will have to. my mistake was not weighing my meat to be sure I used the right amount of seasoning. used a pork butt 2 pack and estimated the weight after deboning. was off a couple of pounds and it caused it to be milder than I wanted. taste test before casing DUH. anyway live and learn I say. give it a try but taste test is a big lesson I learned.

Really good mix
We really like this Sausage mix, we don’t eat pork so we make our own sausage with turkey and beef. Makes the best and tastes great

plus some extra brown sugar and pepper flakes as I like hot and spicy
Grossed out with chunks of gristle, bone and excess fat in storebought sausage. Bought a grinder and grind boston butts, using this as seasoning. I add a little more than the package recommends, plus some extra brown sugar and pepper flakes as I like hot and spicy.Tried many different mixes, but this was best.

Great All Around Seasoning
Good all around sausage seasoning with just a kick of spice. It doesn’t have and preservatives or msg. We make a batch of this every time we butcher a hog
