GS1 Shubb Guitar Steel Slide with Hardwood Handle - Stainless Steel 4.75 oz

I do have a more expensive tone bar that I like and will continue to use. But this 5.6 oz. Shubb SP-2 has become my favorite. To me, the additional length and weight improves control, tone and comfort in the hand. Also, having different radiuses at the ends helps with single-note play as well as sliding across the strings without catching. Would I buy it again? I did! My wife tried my SP-2 today during her practice time and was impressed enough to say, "Order one of these for me".Obviously, do your own research - but I doubt you could go wrong with this tone bar.

I play a 12-string pedal steel, and wanted something to help make a good Dobro sound. This bar does very well. The extra length allows me to use it as a regular steel, if needed, though it is a little light for that.I appreciate that it has both square and rounded ends. The round ends allow 3-string combination slants, the square end allows me to use the bar as a plectrum.The finish is excellent, without pits or manufacturing dents.

Had one like this while playing my 10 string PSG (longer, of course). Only thing I'd like is one end to be more of a "Ball" end instead of two pointed ends. But I'll make it work as it is very comfortable to use and play my Lap Steel.

Just learning lap steel. Had a lapdawg bar but for a beginner it gets easily hung up on strings when going low to high across the fretboard. This Shubbs bar with its one bullet-nose end glides perfectly. Problem solved! Plus it still has a squared-off end for hammer-ons when desired. It’s also comfortable to hold with the nice finger grooves and has enough weight for decent tone, without getting too heavy for comfort and a good ergonomic length. Plus it’s a good value price-wise. All-around winner!

I recently drug out my old lap steel guitar, which was well hidden in our junk room! I decided to purchase another slide bar, as I am now a senior citizen and my grip isn't what it used to be. I'm certainly no lap steel guitar expert, but this one is very comfortable to use, for the most part. It presents a little difficulty using it for slants, especially when you get down to the higher notes on the neck. Overall, it is well made, priced right and should suffice for me.

First off let me say this is my first Dobro Steel Slide and I haven't been playing all that long. Since I am learning and probably will always be learning, it was essential to me to find at least a decent steel slide at the beginning of the journey. This one fits my hand. That is one of the big concerns in my opinion. It needs to be comfortable. And it is for me. But I understand that it might not be comfortable for everyone. The second concern is how easy it is to move around. I have had no problem with that at all. It lands where I put it and the sound is clear. There is one caution I would like to add. Don't drop it on a slate floor. It is heavy and STEEL. It didn't fall out of my hand. It got knocked off a desktop where I put it after practicing. It didn't even mar the finish on it. The slate floor however.....You won't know until you actually try it, if this is one of the ones for you.

Feels great in the hand. Nice weight. Smooth. Bright tone.

Wow, this is a great tone bar, it fits so comfortable in your hand and never slips out. My other bars will slip out of your hand occasionally but this one doesn’t. It is also a perfect fit, it fits like it’s part of your hand. I love it!

The grooves give you a secure and correct grip, I play much more precisely with a bar like this vs a traditional round one.

This slide is great quality and nice and heavy with a great tone but it is for a larger hand. I find it a little too long.

Very comfortable to use and makes playing easier than the Dunlop Bar I've been using.
