Appears to be the real, heavy-duty thing
After about 10 years my original Dial 3/4 HP motor literally fried (burning smell emitting from the vents and before I could go out and check on it (less than 15 min) it abruptly quit). I searched the big box stores and opted to purchase here because it was actually a little cheaper at $140. One week later the price went up by $8 but the big boxes had (understandably) already moved all of their "seasonal" items into large pallets in the back and it would have taken "at least an hour" to retrieve. The instructions that came with the motor were quite good - 2 pages on white paper for English and a duplicate on blue paper in Spanish. I really liked how the four color-coded wires (this is the two speed model) were of the same thick quality as the ones in the old motor. I also liked that the attachment tabs on the inside of the motor where each wire gets plugged onto had a large letter beside it and those letters were "translated" into the color codes for each of the wires in the instructions. The motor is very heavy for its size (about 2/3 the size of a gallon paint can, only heavier) so two people will be ideal to hold the motor in place while screwing the side brackets tight and also while connecting those four wires to the main extension cord. We've only got a few more weeks of warm weather in AZ but I'll update if anything goes prematurely wrong.

It works but for how long?
It has been installed and the parts work... but for how long? This is the question I would need to answer before I can give a review.

It works!
In the middle of a heat wave, my 20 year old cooler motor died. This replacement motor arrived within a few days and was simple to install. Thank you for fast shipping and a good product!!!

motor had a loud hum. returned it to third party vendor and had to pay for shipping.Vendor charged me a $40.00 restocking fee for a FAULTY motor.Enough said about buying through a third party vendors.

Received what appeared to be a previously used motor.
I should have known when I saw the box, how the box looked like it had been opened previously. I decided to go ahead and give it a try. upon using it I found out the motor made a small humming noise but then it went away for a little while. After a few more tries, I noticed that the humming got louder. around the 7th day. the motor would only buzz when you try to use it. I believe I was sent a previously returned item. so I had to return it. But the sad part is is it weighed over 17 pounds. So I had to pay $27 to ship it back. I'll give an update on if I receive my return money

Perfect fit and cool air blowing after half an hour
Honestly had no idea what I was going to do when the kids called in the middle of the heat wave we were experiencing, telling me the swamp cooler wasn't working anymore. Discovered the old motor (also Dial but about 15 years old) had finally given up the ghost. Same motor from when we bought the house so it could have been even older. Either way, it came down to calling someone to take care of the replacement for me or doing the work myself. After deciding to save a few hundred dollars in labor costs and about a two week wait before I could even get someone to the house...I elected to do it myself. Got the motor a couple days later and discovered it came with some easy to read instructions on the wiring portion and it fit perfectly in the existing cradle the old motor came out of. Once I got over my initial jitters around dealing with electrical wiring and grabbed the tools needed for the replacement, it only took about 20-30 minutes before I had amazing cool air blowing into my home again. Dial makes a great motor that is easy to install. Hope I get another 10-15 years out of this one too. This motor saved us from a miserable summer and helped save a few hundred dollars by providing me all the info I would need to do the job myself. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend the Dial 3/4 hp swamp cooler motor to anyone.
