Yamaha Rydeen 5pc Shell Pack with 22" Bass Drum, Burgundy Glitter

I purchased this kit in January 2020 (discounted at the time $260.59) after giving away my drums several years ago, having switched careers and not having played professionally since 2000. I never was particularly successful in getting my kits tuned up and sounding very good. I had played many different kits years, especially when traveling, and I always appreciated a well-tuned kit.I did a small amount of online advice gathering on basic tuning methods, as I wanted to restart my playing with a decently well-tuned kit. I was very surprised at how great these sounded out of the box, especially the floor and rack toms. The floor and tom heads are the same, on the resonant and batter sides. I placed a over-stuffed memory foam-filled pillow in the kick drum for dampening, and I cut a 4 or 5 inch hole in the front head.To sum it up, this kit offers outstanding quality and value for what I paid. I would not have hesitated using this kit at any of the venues where I routinely worked. I could have have spend more for alternate "starter" kits available from other reputable brands, but I don't believe I would have gained any significant value, unless I spent upwards of $600 for other shell-pack kits.

Item returned due to severe bass drum damages in manufacturing. Item seems to have been packaged with visibly splintered and cracked bass drum. Crack appears to run from inner to outer shell. Damage not visible on outer shell due to wrap. Drum hardware may have been screwed in too tightly by the manufacturer but cannot confirm. I did not assemble the kit for fear it would only worsen the crack with play. Crushing, as it was otherwise a beautiful looking set.Bought originally at $419 +taxSame kit is now selling for $459 or more +taxI am awaiting refund from seller for what I paid.Questionable durability for yamaha rydeen.

The drums are used for a church service and it’s very good

The drums it's self were great quality! Only complaint would be that it doesn't come with the full set with simbles or even drum sticks!

Replace the batter heads if you want a decent sounding kit.

Good kit for a second kit or a traveling kit. Not really great quality hardware tho. Tune it right and they will sing! Should be about $100 less

I ordered the red but received black. This was a drunken midnight shopping purchase I tried canceling the next morning and it wouldn’t cancel said it already shipped. I decided to keep it because it’s a big pain to return these heavy instruments. I had to make additional purchases like kick pedal. Snare stand, seat and, cymbals to actually play it. Sounds very nice once tuned properly.
