Well made and once properly mounted works extremely well.
You MUST use the nuts and bolts supplied with the sub-base. It is possible to pull the inserts out of the plastic if you try and use the screws supplied with the template guide bush as they are a different size (despite both being provided by Trend in my case).Remove the existing sub-base from the router.Remove the plastic shield by gently pinching/prising with a flat screwdriver (Bosch POF1400)Mount the guide rod onto the router collet.Mount the Dummy guide bush to the new sub-base and slide onto the guide rod.Adjust until the new sub-base just touches the mounting points.Rotate until the router mounting holes align with corresponding holes in the sub-base.Bolt into place using nuts, washers and bolts provided (the box has a table showing which bolts go with which router).Remove guide rod and guide bush; replace with the real thing and away you go.In use you must make good attention to holding the base flat to the work piece otherwise there is a slight tendency for the many holes to snag.

Not quite universal!
Irritatingly I had to buy this face plate in order to use the Trend Dovetail Jig guide bush. The plate is a good size and well made from thick sturdy plastic. Despite being a 'universal' fit and having so many screw holes it didn't fit my Vonhaus router. I had expected that as my router model wasn't on the compatible devices list. The compatibility chart should be a clear part of the listing rather than saying the base 'fits most routers'. I've added the compatibility chart as an image to this review. Three holes did line up on the router base so I only had to drill one more hole. Additionally, I had to expand two other holes because of two screws protruding slightly from the router base. This obviously invalidates any warranty. In use, it works perfectly, easily gliding over my projects.4 stars because it isn't clear in the listing what routers it will fit.

Quality bit of kit from TrendDoesn't fit Bosch AdvancedTrimRouter 18V, so had to refund, going to buy some 6mm Nylon6 and make my own base for copy ring fitment

Product fine but no box or instructions
First off, the product itself is great. Fits my Triton TRA001 and came with all the accessories in unopened bags. Allows you to use a range of manufacturers guide or template bushings with most routers and that's what I wanted. However the product came loose in amazon packaging, and with no box or instructions as it would with any other retailer. Had to watch YouTube tutorials to work out how to fit it!

Great bit of kit.
Needed this base so I could use standard Trend jig guides.Bought this in the hopes it would fit to my Triton 1/2" router - which wasn't on the list - and as expected it didn't fit 'out of the box'.This baseplate is good and solid, so with a little bit of 'tweaking' I soon had it fitted lovely and central. Being able to use a standard type guide bush is a major improvement - well worth the money and the effort.

Fits Silverline 1/2" Router 124799
Pulled out my router (Silverline 1/2" Router 2050W 124799) and thought the included guide would be the one I needed for using with a Silverline kitchen routing template, unfortunately it wasn't the 30mm needed and then I was surprised when I couldn't get a 30mm guide for the router. Fortunately I came across a post where someone had used this universal base. There is a guide on the box to which routers it fits (looking at another review there is a list online as well, I hadn't checked there), mine isn't listed on the box but fortunately it does fit. It only aligns with the two fitting holes closest to the centre, but it is solid enough, would be better if it aligned with the holes further out as well, but they are outside the diameter of the unit. It's held on with two threaded screws and captive nuts which are secured well in the router base so you simply put the supplied nuts in the router base, fit and tighten the screws once you aligned with the supplied alignment pins and bush.As others have mentioned when you install a guide bush they are only secured with 2 brass inserts in the plastic so be careful not to over tighten. They are only there to hold the guide in place the neat fit will proved the support needed to do the job, so no need to tighten too much, don't see this as a problem as long as you are careful.
