If you're an RV'er with a Solo Stove Ranger, this saw is for you!
When you camp at RV sites, you're pretty much obliged to buy firewood on-site or close by. (We've seen many warnings that it's illegal to bring firewood between states, and it's not worth the risk of bringing bad bugs across state lines, anyway.)We travel with a Solo Store Ranger, and bagged firewood is too long to fit in it (the wood keeps the spark arrestor from fitting correctly). After cutting wood in half with a hand saw for a couple of seasons, I splurged on this saw, thinking it would beat the hand-sawing that I'd been doing.Does it ever! It only has an 8-inch bar, but that's plenty for my purposes. I cut through a bag -- about 8 pieces -- in just a few minutes. (It took nearly as long to set up each piece safely and push the safety switch as it did to actually cut the wood.) FWIW, the Dewalt 4Ah battery that I'd bought separately didn't even register that it had been used.If the saw makes it through a few seasons of jostling around in the basement of our Class A, I'll consider it a bargain!

Excellent
Excellent tool. I’ve probably cut over a thousand small trees and branches since I bought this saw 2 years ago. When it eventually gives out, I’ll order another same day.

A great Dewalt cordless tool!
Great cordless less chainsaw that delivers power and light weight. Dewalt is getting better cordless tools for my 3.5 acres of trees and shubs..

super easy to use but don't expect the power of a gas saw
I use this on a 4 wheeler for trimming trails. No need for gas, just bring extra batteries. The safety cover on the end of the blade is annoying and I'm removing it to cut thicker branches. When using the saw, you just need to have patience and let the chain cut. If you push too hard, the saw will cut off and wait for the battery to cool and the voltage to come back up

Light and powerful
This is a very handy tool. I have an 18” and a 20” Husqvarna saw and they’ve been good to me.But they are overkill for many quick jobs.I use Dewalt tools so I had plenty of batteries and they fit this chainsaw. The batteries last a long time. This Dewalt chainsaw would be perfect if it had a micro chain tension adjustment to keep the chain tight but you have to take off the cover and manually pull the bar back to tighten the chain. This is kind of a frustrating process. But I like the saw a lot.

So convenient
This is great for me being a woman not having to start a chainsaw to just trim branches in my yard. Worth every penny.

Works as described
Love this machine. Works great. Not too heavy and has good balance. A little awkward for me to press the button so that it works; but, still not too heavy to hold with one hand. I wear protective glasses in case there are wood splinters that fly off; but, so far no problem with that.
