Very good introduction to organometallic chemistry
Very good introduction to organometallic chemistry. The solutions to the chapter problems are nice, but I wish they were in depth. However, the material is thorough and gives a great range of organometallics.

Still using it - so I'm glad I didn't rent it.
Surprisingly readable, for a chemistry textbook. I refer to it frequently.

Great book!
Great book! It's easy to understand and follow the examples. The book gives a good overview of coordination chemistry in the first chapter.

the book seems good.
Being my first Organometallic class, the book seems good.

more updated cases on the organometallic structure involved reactions
I enjoyed the Crabtree's most recent edition with more added examples in the organic application chapters to demonstrate the various applications of the metal-contained catalysts which also provide promient inorganic perspective for the organic transformations

This seems to be a better explanation of the Transition Metals than some of the other books.

Sixth edition sucks, buy the 4th
This used to be a great textbook, perhaps the best one in the field. However, this latest (6th) edition, "revised and improved", sucks. They've tried to put everything in, and sacrificed the presentation of the material.New material is added carelessly, breaking the flow of explanations. Many things are referred by citations only, as if it's a review and not a self-sufficient textbook. There are many abbreviations and jargon, which slows the reading.Example: spectrometrical series is given twice, on p. 16 and 18, with equally repetitive surrounding text.Overall, it feels like this great text was given to careless (and non-native?) students to update.Crabtree has followed the steps of March...

Fantastic book
A great instructional book on the subject that I learnt a lot from. Would recommend this as the premier textbook on the subject to those interested.
