Best tool in my yard too box
This is the BEST yard tool. It shovels, it cuts, it pulled weeds and it is sturdy and great quality. This is my one of my new “favorite things.” I sent one to a sister who loves it too.

Inexpensive, not stainless
This is had a very good price, but I didn't realize when I bought it that it wasn't stainless steel. If you want a low-cost hori hori knife, and don't mind being careful with it to keep it from rusting, this should do the job. It is quite heavy for its size. It wasn't what I wanted, so I returned it.

Favorite tool
I’ve had three of these. I lost one in a public garden where I volunteer, have been using the second for years. Just bought a third for backup. The notch in the point and narrow blade makes them great for weeding. Very sturdy. The only bad thing is that the first two had green handles - easy to lose in the garden - the third is even worse a brown handle! After losing the first I spray paint the handles bright orange to make them easy to spot.

Impressive
Ames Planter's Pal Hand Tool #2442100I can't recall ever gushing over a tool in a review although this one makes me take pause. In my old age, I've scaled-down the hand-scaping/flower beds although I still work about 1,100sf. So I've really put this little feller through the paces. Still, after three years this my "go-to" bedding tool. This tool has a serrated edge on one side, a sharpened straight edge on the other, a twine cutter at the base by the handle and also a weeder tip. Awesome versatility! It has a 5 1/2" blade and a 5 1/2" handle. It also sports a tamper on the butt- of the handle for light work as well as 1" increments embedded on the blade and handle. As long as you use it for its intended purposes you will be well satisfied. If you think it's a pry-bar, mallet, hammer, screwdriver, machete, axe or chainsaw then you will be disappointed. It really is the "right tool for the right job" though. The only reason this isn't a 5-Star review is because of the origin of manufacturer and the incredibly weak back-peddling warranty. The Ames family were one of the most prominent U.S. families of the 18th & 19th century so after 250 years of toolmaking it would be nice to have their products still made in the USA with a REAL warranty; I'd gladly pay double the price if it were! Oh well, wish in one hand.......
