accurate and easy to use
This is the second of these that I have purchased. In addition, last year I purchased another, cheaper brand--- that was a mistake. This thermometer works well and is accurate, allowing us to manage our wood stove correctly.

Decent but not exceptional
Works great unless it reaches 800 degrees. After that, it reads 200 degrees too high. Had to take off 1 star for that reason.

Clear temp indicaters
My stove has a zone temp gauge already on the side of it but I have a fan topside that requires a marked temp gauge to be sure that it doesn't reach overheat stage. I don't want to ruin a brand new heat activated fan so this little guy sits on top of the stove alongside it as required and now I always know what temperature my stove is operating at as well as making sure its not getting too hot for this new fan. I now know that a little over 450 degrees stove temp is safe for the little fan and the stove's catalytic burner to function at optimum levels.

I bought this one over the $7 ones because it was made in the USA. Works great and is necessary to have for my new wood stove. Keeps me efficient.

Amazing
Don’t compromise with Chinese garbage - buy this US made.It has surpassed my expectations. It’s reads the same temps as my infrared temp gun. Extremely helpful in managing a good burn.
