SpankSpike Race 2 Stem, 35mm or 50mm Burly 31.8 bar-clamp Zone

I bought this stem for my Ozark Trail Ridge project and I’m impressed with the build quality and its robustness.It was fairly easy to install although I had to double check my angles because there are no guide lines. *You might want to note the height difference between the Spoon stem and your current stem because this kit does not include spacers nor a top cap.As far as performance goes I notice a huge difference in maneuverability and control. The front end of the bike is much more nimble and easier to lift up.Overall I’m happy with the price, performance, and the way it looks. I highly recommend this Spoon stem if you’re looking for a cheaper stem to test out a stem length or you just want to save some money.

Got this stem in the 50mm length to replace a 110mm XC stem that came on my bike, and it completely changed how my bike feels. Turning feels snappier and more confident, and I don't feel so stretched out and uncomfortable.The actual stem is a really well made product. It's light but feels very solid, and the bolts seem to be of good quality. The logos on the sides look really nice. The front Spank logo, which I thought was just printed, too, when I bought it, is actually deeply laser-engraved, which is a nice touch and probably saves a small amount of weight if you care about that. Overall really happy with this stem and will probably buy more Spank products in the future.

Switched from a 50mm to a 35mm on Trek Roscoe 7. Bike has more precise steering and looks better too.

Installed to a rockshox recon on my hyper explorer. Feels nice and gets a good angle. Would recommend this.

I am running the spank race 2 stem and the spank 785 bars and I love this setup. Stem is made well, It is light (not a gram counter) and it looks bitching on my bike.

I'm sure it's a great stem. Looks nice, feels quality, Spank always has nice minimal packaging and includes a nice sticker. This thing is stamped with "35" on it, and I mistakenly interpreted that to indicate the clamp diameter of the bars. 35 refers to the length, it's the standard 31.whatever clamp diameter. So I guess I'll hold onto it in the event I ever go back to standard bars.

Just an initial impressions review. Finish and quality appear very good. Product packaging very good. HOWEVER! As sold by Amazon, this does not come with a top cap. It's not missing, it just doesn't come with one as clearly printed on the box. But Spank's website says it DOES come with one, and Amazon's description doesn't say that it doesn't. So I'm knocking a star off.I'm annoyed but not enough to return and buy elsewhere because I have spare top caps lying around. Not sure if I'm more annoyed with Amazon or Spank.

The price is hard to beat the color is same as picture it is a little heavier than It looks good quality though

Spank makes nice things , have two 50mm spank stems , nice finish , probably light , and work well for a Medium size rider on a large bike with wide bars . Comfortable setup .
