I bought this lockset to replace the one I had that was peeling off and looked dated. I love the look of this new lockset and it matched perfectly on the holes already made for the previous lockset. It was very easy to assemble although instructions were a little confusing. Yet, once installed it works very well. At the big depots, locksets were over $100 so I gave this one a try, although I was initially skeptical of the low price. However, I'm impressed by the feel and quality for the price range. I hope it lasts like my previous one. So far, I'd say it's worth the try.

Our similar-style Callan handle from 2015 bit the dust after 9 years. This budget-priced one fits our immediate needs and hopefully we can get a handful of years or more out of it. As other reviews have stated, replacing this one slightly more often may still put you money ahead...especially as manufacturing quality for just about everything is lower these days than pre-2020.The build quality seems pretty good but it's lighter (more like aluminum than steel). than our old name-brand one and the posts have more give in them. For example, accidentally dropped during install and had to slightly bend back one of the top screw guides on the outer side of the handle.If replacing an existing handle, you may need to drill a new bottom hole like I did. It measures approximately 8.25 inches from the top screws to the bottom screw. My old handle was 8 inches.I didn't replace the deadbolt to avoid rekeying. The door strike plate is nice and helped fill a gap as our door has settled and you could see daylight in the bottom right as it no longer rested tight against the weather stripping with our old strike plate.

I was looking to make a purchase for this type of handle and lock at other big box retailers and this one was more than half the cost and is the same in quality. Installed easily and looks great.

I'm HANDY, been working as handyman for 30+ years. I broke my old old Westlock entry set, bought this as a temporary fix because they were very inexpensive, I am not going to replace it with another high dollar unit because this lockset is built as well or better than those costing 300.00-500.00 dollars. I read the negative reviews and was willing to give it a try anyway, glad I did. Entry locksets like this can be challenging to install, especially where a different unit had been previously installed. This unit is very well built, better than many name brand units, it works flawlessly when properly installed. This was $50.00 well spent and took about 45 minutes for experienced me to install. 6 months later it's still working as designed.

Overall, the doorknob works fine. It’s not bad looking but the quality is fairly lightweight compared to the doorknob we were replacing. Cost was reasonable and it’s functional. Instructions were poorly written and it was even unclear at times if instructions were for the doorknob or deadbolt. I wondered if the person writing the instructions even tried following the directions to actually install a doorknob! I finally threw away the instructions and just winged it, easier to install without trying to follow their directions!
