We live aboard our motoryacht so making good use of every bit of storage space is important. I bought this because our master stateroom bed is high and I need it for that purpose but I love that I can store my sneakers and shoes in it as well. Easy to access the items I want but they are hidden and out of the way. I"m even considering purchasing an additional one to use them side by side at the foot of the bed so I can store more stuff. Super easy to put together. It should hold up as we are not really rough with things.

I very carefully chose this particular product because of its stated wood construction; unlike a similar product, that looks exactly alike but is made of MDF wood, this one ONLY states 'wood' as its material. However, upon assembling it, we found that it's actually made of particle board.Inserting some of the screws resulted in chipping/tearing the 'wood' and we debated sending it back. In the end, we went ahead and completed its assembly, and then decided to keep it; we were satisfied that the screw issues had not made it unsafe to use.It is sturdy, it looks very nice, its cubby hole is actually quite spacious--much larger than I'd anticipated--and it does its job nicely. But I don't think it's worth its price, and I don't know why it's allowed to be described as WOOD when it actually contains particle board.One note of caution: it's VERY slippery on hardwood floors! We ended up putting a new bath rug (with non-slip backing) under it to keep it from sliding out from under me when stepping on it. If you're placing this on anything but carpet, such as wood or tile, you might want to put a non-slip mat under it for safety.Now that I'm over being upset about its composition and have been using it for a few days, I'm glad I have it. But I do wish I'd been given accurate information when reading its description. In reality, this item should cost no more than $50 or so.

This is actually a well thought out product but read the instructions first. Perfect step stool for assisting in getting into a high platform bed.The product arrived well packed but be careful opening the box. Once opened lay out all the pieces. Each piece has a unique number that matches the drawings and written instruction. Read each direction over until you understand what needs to be done and in what order. NO SPECIAL TOOLS ARE NEEDED. I used a simple Phillips edge screwdriver. The instructions tell you not to overtighten pivots and don't use electric screwdrivers.....FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION.Since I have a hardwood floor in my bedroom I would have like to seen them include some type of rubber foot pad to install under the base to make it more slip resistant but these are available at most hardware stores. All in all, I'm pleased with the product.

Exactly what I was looking for. Had to come up with a better solution for feeding and after much research this is what I decided on. The storage area fits the bag of kibble perfectly!I bought a non slip mat and great stainless bowls and can swap out for wet food in the am and pm. The mat will protect the “wood”.The higher level of feeding helps with digestion and as they grow the 2nd level could allow for height adjustment if needed. It’s perfect.

I needed to get this for my wife to be able to get on our bed without her water breaking lol. I'm happy with my purchase. Very sturdy. Real wood. With the price of wood now and days Its a fair price. I think I would still pay about $50-60 if wood wasn't expensive. The paint doesn't scratch. And the storage space is useful. I don't know what other reviews are talking about on assembly. It took me about 10 minutes. The instructions were clear. It brings its own allen key. All you need is your own phillips head screwdriver which you shouldn't be out of your mom and pop's house if you don't own a standard set of phillips head screwdriver.

I loved the idea of having a step stool with an extra storage space hidden inside the flip-top step and the hint of county appeal in design...But there are issues! First of all, it's fairly heavy so it's really meant for stationary placement and not the kind of thing you want to move around much. The assembly is so-so and a bit tricky if you're not Ikea-adapted; it does come with instructions but be mindful you must assemble it in the exact order shown, like a Chinese puzzle, or you will have to undo what you did and start over. My order came with hardware that had 3 of the C shaped "cam locks" that secure around the head of the screws, tightly jammed together and I had to use pliers to get them apart...that caused enough fatigue to cause the cheap metal they're made of to break during assembly! Really? The wood is actually particle board and not hardwood, so again...those screws aren't going to hold especially well because they have shallow threading and not what you would expect of a "wood screw"...so it will loosen and pull out over time with movement. Can I recommend it? Hmmm...I guess it might be ok for a bed/bedroom but not for a kitchen where you need to move it around to access top shelves and things.

My bed is 30" tall. I'm 5' tall. I use the bottom step to get into bed - measures 8" from the floor, making me tall enough to get into my bed. The top step is an extension of my night stand and storage - measuring 16" from the floor. It works for me. Notice I have it place against my nightstand and not the bed (it would be too tall then). My son put it together for me, so I can't comment on assembling of this project. Had it about 4 months now and use it every time I get into bed. NOT recommend for potty training.
