The map was super handy!
An ideal guide. I pulled the map out of the back of the book and carried it with me while touring Old San Juan on foot for a short day on a cruise port stop. Combining info I found in the book along with a walking tour I found online - I charted a course for seeing as much of the city as I could. It was a long day but absolutely beautiful. I think I'm in love with Old San Juan and can't wait to go back. The guidebook was a valuable resource while planning my day trip to PR.

A lot of good information in this guide
My husband and I just got back from Puerto Rico after having stayed at the Copamarina Beach Resort in Guanica and then at the Gallery Inn in Old San Juan. I found the guide helpful, but a little too enthusiastic in its descriptions. The book provides a lot of good information about hotels and restaurants that we might not have found without it. We rented a car to go to Copamarina. For a trip across the island, the map we got from Hertz was much more useful than the one included in the book.

Good, 'plain vanilla' guide to a great destination.
Fine guide for first time visitors. The front cover says it all - It includes all destinations you've heard about in a circle of the island, emphasizing San Juan and historical importance areas. The pull out map is very useful, since local maps are hard to find in Puerto Rico. The photos are good, they will whet your appetite for travel outside the cities.

Not up to date
This was a well written book. The problem is it's so dated that most of the restaurants are no longer in business. It was not very helpful to find places to eat.

was a good reference
was a good reference and used during my visit to Pueto Rico. But of course it was not the only one, many others are need, and free ones can be picked up when you get there. But worth buying

The book and all description is great. A map insert inside is a joke and commercial catch. If you really want to find places and rely on maps it is better to get a free map at any tourists place in Puerto Rico.

Nice PR Book
While most of the information can be found online, this book did a nice job of putting everything in one place. The best part was that it lists hours for each attraction listed, which ended up being VERY helpful. I'd recommend for PR first-timers.

Informative
Great book, too bad we didn't get to use the information since our travel dates were 9/2017 and the hurricanes forced us to cancel the trip. With the damage to the island, obviously look for a reprint/revised edition of any San Juan travel guide.
