Route 66 Dining & Lodging Guide - 17th Edition - Spiral Bound Spiral-bound – January 31, 2015

We used this book as an adjunct to the Route 66 maps and guides by Jerry McClanahan. It was very easy to follow, with plenty of suggestions. I might have preferred it if the dining and lodging were split up in separate sections, since you're usually only looking for one or the other at any given moment. The spiral binding made it easy to leave it open to a particular area. The cover is hard enough to offer good protection.

So pleassed to have this invaluable guide to plan my stops. Cross referenced with the Lonely Planet Route 66 guide it is all that is needed. Also the money spent on the Route 66 Dinning and Lodging Guide goes to a really good cause. I feel really privillaged to be helping such a cause. I highly reccommend this guide with practical usable easy to read and access information, much of it in budget range.

Interesting to read and handy

Looks very complete, and should help us avoid "pot luck" for eating and lodging on our upcoming Route 66 road trip. I like the way they list certain spots that they recommend for their own sightseeing value, whether you dine/lodge there or not. Spiral binder makes it easy to keep it open to the pages you need as you progress from Chicago to L.A.

A must when traveling Route 66!!! Our group of friends found this book very helpful in the planning of our trip. 10 peeps and 5 motorcycles, it made it so much easier to see where to stay and eat that we could all decide on.... A great read and travel guide.

Love stopping at all the "mom and pop's" restaurants on our recent trip to Oklahoma. We were not disappointed in any of our selections from this book. We can not wait to visit more of these places.

Meh. Can get just as much, if not better, information online just as easily. I ordered many different books for our various 66 trips and this is my least used one.

I used this to plan our trip in 2015. I found the lodging reviews most helpful. It's well worth getting the newest edition, even if you have an older one. Places change and new places open.
