Bestop 3943609 Charcoal Trailmax II Standard Front Seat - Jeep 1976-2006 CJ7 & Wrangler

I replaced both front seats in my 1992 Jeep Wrangler with these seats. These seats are much more comfortable and better than the original seats. Installing them on my frames was simple and quick. I definitely am pleased with this product!

I just installed mine a several hours ago. I just got done laying down about 100 miles or so, and my first impression is that they're way nicer than the 24 year old seats they replaced in my 91 YJ. They are pretty stiff, but I'm going to assume that just like a seat in any new car, it'll break in and soften up just like the seats in my Ram 5500 did.I sit much higher now than I did before, too high actually, which is why I'm hoping the foam in the ass part of the seat collapses a good amount as it breaks in. It also has me sitting closer to the wheel, so with sitting too high, and too far toward, it makes it a pain in the ass to drive for now. The angle my foot is at when on the throttle is terrible. It's also putting me in some kind of weird position where my foot has a tendency to hit the throttle when pushing the brake... hard to explain, almost like I'm sitting too far to the center or something.Other than the terrible seating position that I'm hoping is temporary, or can at least be fixed, it's pretty comfortable, and the recline on it is perfect. The amount I usually lean back is exactly how much this seat is. Upright, but still a relaxed position. Not old lady, leaning into the windshield recline, and none of that stupid ass gangsta lean s***. I can see just fine, and I'm not trying to take a nap while driving.EDIT: So after about 5 or 6 months, the seats have softened up quite a bit, but they're still relatively stiff. My seating position has sunk a little, so I'm no longer sitting extremely high. It's still a little higher than I prefer, but it has improved a lot. They're still not broken in completely, but I can tell they'll be really nice once completely broken in.I've upgraded the rating to 4 stars. I'm still leaving one star out because the overall seating position is still a little too far forward.

Installed them this morning in my '88 YJ Wrangler. I am replacing Rugged Ridge seats, which lasted my for 7 years, and that isn't great, but it is a Jeep and gets abused and left out in the sun a lot. So no complaints about the RR seats, but these are a nice step up in quality of stitching as well as the design. Worth the little extra these cost. Aftermarket seats do sit a little higher, and these do too, but usually a few hours of your butt sitting on them will compress the foam until they are just right. Everything fit perfectly, including my original sliders.

They fit my Humvee very nicely.. obviously with some fab work.. especially for the front seat. Material seems like it will last a long time. More dark grey than black… which I have no problem with considering how hot black gets

I installed these in my 1995 Jeep YJ and they are a vast improvement over the stock seats. Although they don't recline, I found that these seats are at the right recline anyway, so there isn't a need. The material is the same as their soft-top material (not shiny like the picture) which is great for comfort and grip in the seat. They do sit you up higher than stock, but being 6'1" and having a tilt steering wheel, I found that was a good thing. Pretty high firmness, but with time I bet they soften up some, again though compared to stock this is a good thing. I highly recommend them to anyone replacing Jeep seats, was very impressed.

For me it’s adjusted fixed to forward. Just drilled another hole in the bracket forward to the original and it made the difference. Might affect safety issues but couldn’t get comfortable sitting that far forward.

When I purchased this Bestop seat, I was expecting the same quality that I normally find in their other products. I was disappointed on several levels.1. The seat is hard as a rock. I'm talking about way beyond firm.2. As other have said, it makes you sit significantly higher. This causes my head to touch the sun screen that my wife makes me have on the Jeep and is surprisingly causes a loss of leg room as well.3. There was a hard spot a bit bigger that a pea towards that back of the seat cushion. This caused a visual blemish through the material. It was far enough back that I didn't feel it when I sat down, so I just threw my seat cover over it and forgot about it.I was hoping when I bought this, instead of the Rugged Ridge variety, I would be getter a better seat. That turned out to not be the case.
