Effective!

I have used several types of supplements hoping to curtail damage to my lawn as well as bushes in the neighborhood my 140 lb. male dog likes to mark on our daily walks. These work! You can imagine how much a 140 lb. dog's urine output is. After sleeping all night, he puts down a small lake in the back yard. When he tore his ACL and couldn't go on walks, I stopped giving the supplement and after a few months, I was sorry I did that. The grass was not only severely damaged where he pees, but it also smelled horrible. We recently added a new puppy to the mix. I found these supplements in our cabinet and decided to start both the puppy and old dog back on them. It is amazing the difference it's making in just a few weeks. The smell is dying down and the grass is greening up. I am hopeful we'll be able to enjoy our backyard again soon!

KEEP YOUR LAWN GREEN

We have two small poodles who look forward to their nightly biscuits, which seem to be quite effective in reducing the dead grassy spots on the lawn. While we are very regular in using the biscuits, and the dogs love them, they are not 100% effective. They do work 95% of the time, however, and that's good enough for us!

Has pretty much stopped working

Back on 03/17/2016, I posted a review in which I commented that they had stopped working as well as they had initially. This is an update to (or more correctly a 90% rewrite) of that review.I still have two giant ("Oorang") Airedale terriers, and the mom weighs about 135 while her son weighs around 115. When we first started using these in 2014 or 2015, they worked well, and that was with these same two "giants" as well as an elderly "large-but-not-giant" Airedale weighing about 70 lbs.and initially they worked really well with all 3 of them,. even the 11-year-old. However after a few months they stopped working well and we suddenly had a giant "dead" patch in an otherwise healthy lawn (Zoysia). We continued using them, though, because at least they seemed to stop the plethora of small white patches where one of the dogs would occasionally urinate. And despite the shortages when we were unable to get them at all, we have continued to use them ever since. However, for some reason we cannot fathom, they no longer seem to work more than intermittently. (And no, the Airedales' diets have not changed at all.) We have moved and our new lawn is bermuda - and maybe that's the problem. In any case, although each of the Airedales is getting a dose of 5 tablets per day, we still have hundreds of dead spots in our new lawn - which was in perfect condition until we moved in and which is still in perfect condition outside the fence (i.e., where the pooches can't get to them).I may be back if that doesn't work - or if the results are worse than what I'm seeing now. But in the mean time I will repeat my "recommendation" from my earlier review.[Repeating a bit from my earlier review:I {STILL} suspect that the issue is the dosage. As I said my Airedales are giants (the female is 135 lbs and the male is 115), and the dosage says 4 tablets per day for over 75 lbs. That's roughly 1 tablet for every 18-20 lbs. By that logic, the female would need over 7 per day and the male just over 6. I have tried upping the dosage to 5 each (one over the recommended amount) but not knowing exactly how much these lower the pH of the dog's urine I'd rather have dead spots in the grass than Airedales with UTI's. ]RECOMMENDATION:So if you have a small- or medium-sized dog, they will probably work well for you. But if you have a really large dog, I cannot recommend these as a good solution since in the long term they clearly - for us at least - they don't work that well and I wouldn't recommend them for larger dogs.

works as described.

My lawn has no dog spots after 30 days of two per day. Two 1.5 year old goldenpoo's. This stuff works.Update: My dogs are now five years old. 35 and 45 pounds. 2 wafers per day spring summer and fall has worked for years now. I don't think they are crazy about the taste but they eat them and it works. Now my second problem. Amazon has them only in stock on an intermittent basis so I run out sometimes. BTW, I have tried nutrivet and Naturvet products when I can get the Healthy Baker product and have not had success with the other products. Does anyone have an alternate product to HB that works?

Lawn Protection dog treats,

I felt these treats didn't work as well as the product says. I have a female dog, and I have been give her 3 treats each day . We still have burn spots on our lawn. She is 1 yr.old mixed breed. I noticed burn spots are mostly in the morning when she first goes out .No sure if I would order this item again.

My dogs love them!

I wasn't sure if my dogs would like these treats or not. They took to them no problem though! Have not noticed any yellowing of the lawn since feeding to them. I usually give them one or two per day and it seems to be a good treat and help keep your lawn a little greener! Great product thank you!

Lawn and dog love them!

I am not sure what enjoys these more. My dog or my lawn. My dog loves stinky treats and if you get take a whiff of these you'll find out quickly they're a stinky treat. My dog is a 53 pound bulldog and was leaving spots on the lawn so I decided to give these a shot, very glad I did. They're great because they're are a lot of treats in here, plus after the first two months I decided to see how my dog would do on just one a day instead of the two that was recommended for his weight then and they still kept him from burning the lawn where he urinated at, so a container of these has lasted me almost a year.
