Good quality book, got it for school and it served it purpose.

This book was disappointing, because it contains nothing about writing syntax (that is, coding in SPSS). The book explains how to select commands from menus and click around in dialogue boxes. Menus and dialogue boxes work the same in SPSS as they do in every other application! What's unique to SPSS is the clunky programming syntax.I wish the book explained how to perform analyses by writing syntax, with explanation of the variables and options that can to be specified within each command.

Got this book for university but it is actually really informative. If you need this for a college course it’s worth the buy, and is very cheap for a textbook.
