Westinghouse 7028400 Single-Light Mini-Pendant Kit with Nickel Finish

Carpenter installed, no issues reported, length adjustable which is great, looks good with the globe we chose.

I wanted to substitute a pendant light fixture in place of my can lighting in my bathroom. I didn't really want to go through the hassle of switching it permanently over with an electrician so I gave this a shot. I'm so glad that I did. It's pretty much exactly what it seems. On the other side of the plate there is a handle contraption with a light socket at the end. You literally twist the light socket into your ceiling light fixture, wrap the excess cord around the handle portion to pull up any slack so it's just the right height, secure the cover with a nut, install your light bulb in the drop down socket, attach the cover and you're set. I literally put this up by myself in about 20 minutes. It's very easy to adjust and emits a nice light with the glass. The glass has a frosted type look which emits a softer light, which I prefer but you might want to opt for a clear glass if you need a lot of light.My only reason for not giving this 5 stars is that the cover can be tricky. As you wrap the excess cord around the handle you have to be careful how you wrap it. If the cord doesn't line up straight the cover can shift over the light outlet in the ceiling. The cover can only be tightened so far so you have to work with it a bit to get it just right. If they could find a way to better secure the plate to the ceiling so that part wasn't so cumbersome these would be perfect. This is still an easy, inexpensive solution for swapping out a light and I would definitely recommend it.

I wanted to replace the pendant light over my sink but couldn't find one I liked that included the fixture and the globe/shade. The old fixture had a solid rod so the height couldn't be adjusted and the shade was made of bubble glass which made the light somewhat glaring. I found the perfect shade but it wouldn't work with my fixture. I found this on Amazon for a great price. My son installed it for me and we were able to adjust the height. I couldn't be more pleased.

This fixture worked perfectly for what I wanted aesthetically. It's nice and sturdy too. I have just two suggestions for improvement/a five star rating.First, the description of the placement of the canopy mounting screws versus the screws that mount the mounting bar to the outlet box could have been clearer. Being me, I reversed the two, which meant that I had to re-do the placement after all the wiring was connected and working (more about which next). For those installing who are like me and don't know such things, the mounting bar is secured to the outlet box by using the slots (not the screw holes) in the mounting bar.Second, the wire ends are for more nimble fingers than mine (or more nimble wiring than my 90 year old house). I had to strip the wire ends further in order to get a secure connection in the wire nuts (belying the statement "no special tools needed"). Worse, though, was the wire encasement also cut too close to the wire ends, meaning that that had to be stripped an inch or so to get things connected and pushed up into the canopy. The problem with that is the process of stripping the encasement took off all the little flags that distinguished the individual wires (ground, black and white) which was a problem because the wires themselves are all silver. :(

This fit perfectly into an antique glass shade I had found at a shop.The hanging/electrical cord was very long and adjustable. There is a small plastic screw that you can loosen near the plate and shorten the cord up to get the perfect length. You would then have to trim up the excess and restrip the ends of the wires. It's fairly easy and there are lots of tutorials on how to do it.The only problem with it was that because I have an old house the two screws with decorative covers weren't quite the right length - they left a gap between the plate and the ceiling and didn't tighten up completely. This is definitely a problem relating to having an older house with weird junction/hanging boxes though. Just be aware you might need to switch out those or work around it if you have a weird/old house.

I bought this product for our kitchen renovation. The electrician installed it. It looks nice and matches our decor. It is sturdy enough to hang very heavy glass pendant housings. The price point was good. . I would buy this again.

CSA approved in Canada wiring. Works great but be careful when you adjust the length. once you take out the tap screw at the side of the wiring it only allows you to loosen it once. then the screw won’t stay tight. We had to use a black zip tie at the top to stop it from sliding down .we made it work but it’s disappointing

This product is exactly what we were looking for in order to install our pendant light shade in our new home. I was unable to find something similar at Rona or Canadian Tire, so I was very happy when I found this product on Amazon. The finish on the base plate and cord looks great. The only reason I didn't give the item five stars is because the installation instructions were horrible. The diagram is very small and hard to read, and the image doesn't match with the actual parts (namely that the mounting bar is in fact two pieces, not one as shown). Plus the steps aren't laid out in a clear fashion. It may be easy for someone experienced with such things, but as novices, we found it challenging. But we got it figured it out in the end thanks to some online resources, and we're really happy with the end result.

Bought one of these before. Excellent for a DIY light project. Cord can be cut to fit hanging length you want. Note that you should have a bit of experience with electrical as you do need to connect the wires and fixture. Not a big deal if you know to keep like coloured wires together. Only complaint, if that, is that casing is bronze finish and socket is white. Would maybe be better if brown so not so noticeable if choose not to put a globe on it. Obviously, this is our second purchase so do feel we got what we wanted.

Versatile with any glass shade, even used with large Chinese lantern shade and it works well. Easy to install. Great product.
