Super easy to use
The media could not be loaded. We rented out our house for the last 15 years while I was overseas. I recently remodeled the bathrooms, recently the one bathroom always smells damp. The last thing I wanted to do was tear up the bathroom again. I decided to try this moisture detector. It came fast, had a good price and is really easy to use. But I kept wondering if it is actually accurate.I did a video that shows everything below.I decided to do some tests with it. It has 2 meters, one shows you the percent of moisture and the other is a green to red/dry to wet moisture indicator. It also has four different modes; drywall, masonry, hardwood and softwood.First I set it on the drywall mode and tried it out on my wall. The moisture indicator didn't register at all and it showed anywhere from 1% to 5%. This seemed like quite a range and had me wondering if 5% was good or bad. I knew I needed to test a couple of scenarios. I got a piece of scrap drywall and filled a bowl with water. I put the drywall over the bowl of water, this gave me a reading that was less than 1% and still didn't register on the moisture indicator. This had me thinking maybe a 5% reading is bad. But, I am willing to try anything before I tear into the drywall to find out there is no moisture.Next, I poured a small pool of water on the floor and laid the drywall right on top of it. With the meter on the drywall which is sitting on the pool of water, it gave me a 6% reading but still didn't register on the moisture indicator. Again, now I am really starting to think I may be tearing into some walls. At this point my drywall is wet and I need to clean up the water I dumped on the floor. I soaked the water up with the drywall piece then tested it again. I put the moisture meter directly on the part that was in the water. It now showed 25% and 2 green bars on the moisture indicator. I didn't let the drywall really soak up the water and it read at 25%.I now see that a low reading isn't really detecting any water damage maybe just a little bit of moisture. At 25% there is definitely some moisture or water. I would recommend this to anyone who thinks they may have a water leak prior to cutting into the floor or drywall.Feel free to check out my video.

Accurate and easy to use for quick moisture checks
I’ve been using this Klein moisture meter for checking drywall and wood around the house, and it’s been spot on. It’s simple to use — just place it flat and the reading shows up instantly on the bright display. I like that it scans without leaving pinholes, and it feels sturdy but lightweight in hand. The detection is accurate enough for quick checks, though it does better on flat surfaces than corners. For homeowners or anyone doing inspections, this is a reliable tool that saves time and gives peace of mind.

Saved me a lot of time and money
This saved me a lot of time and money locating the exact places on an old plaster & lath wall that were wet. It indicated the EXACT boundary of the wet area. I only had to replace those areas testing wet and it eliminated any other areas. The tester worked well if held FLAT against the wall. Of course the % moisture indication could not be verified, but in my case all I needed to know was the boundry between 100% and 0% moisture. This measurement was repeatable, allowing me to mark the boundary. It was a VERY difficult problem to solve. I initially searched for leaking pipes, a roof leak, etc. I finally decided that a calcium chloride desiccant bag that had been hanging near the closet wall must have sprung a leak. This contaminated area absorbed moisture to a point of equilibrium and remained wet regardless of running a dehumidifier for weeks.NOTE: Never use a desiccant container containing calcium chloride where a leak could splll on any absorbent surface. It will NEVER dry out and can not be cleaned off.

Waiting for manufacturer response
Excellent work so far.. not sure if it works for slab floors; waiting for the manufacturer to respond.

Very helpful tool if you suspect water damage issues
The media could not be loaded. I knew that I had a leak in our house as I was seeing signs of water damage in our dining room. Our insurance company sent someone out to try to find the leak and he couldn't detect anything. I ordered this moisture meter to prove that there was something going on and it definitely captured the problem. A contractor came and opened up the wall and the sink drain pipe was completely disconnected. Water had been pouring out of the sink drain into the wall and floor for who knows how long. The moisture meter was very easy to use. It has modes to detect moisture in different surfaces as you can see in the videos I've attached.
