this reel is built solid and its heavy. this would be perfect for huge fish paired with a 6'6" or 7' rod medium heavy fast action. i plan to load this up with a 40 lb monofilament and take it on a bluefishing or striper fishing. i had my penn slammer set up the same way and i pulled the fish towards me instead of the fish pulling me all around the boat using light tackle. the drag on this thing is smooth. anyway, if you want a reel that's light this is not for you. i have the 8000 so maybe if you're concerned with the weight i would go with the smaller sizes. for the price you're getting a nice reel that will last for a long time. the blue color is very nice too. this is probably one of the nicest reel in my collection.

heavy duty all metal dual drag reel
this reel is a beast a ton of drag very powerful and fast retrieve you get a ton of value for your money with this reel, it is all metal so it has proven to be extremely durable and the blue color makes it look awesome, this is a heavy reel ment for big fish.

Very nice reel caught some nice big red snappers no problem at all (off shore)

Strong reel
But I don't like that when you spin the reel it stops quickly. Most other reels spin freely if you crank them with the drag open, this one does not. Also, you must open the bail to the side to cast, cannot open it straight up which I find stange and annoying. Otherwise reels seems good.
