I was able to use the tool for one car, though the threaded rod bent and then the nut stripped and had to work around those defects.

Perfect set to do my upper and lower ball joins on my e36 M3, The cup’s first perfect and are easy to use. I would recommend.

The insert sleeve that pushes the bushing out gets stuck inside the bushing housing (see picture). Bolt ended up bending as well. Took car to a shop to see if I can get removed. This turned into an expensive job.

Exactly what I've been looking for as the genuine BMW tool is over $150 for the rear lower and upper control arm ball joint tool itself. The threaded rod is strong (I snapped two other rods previously trying to DIY my own kit) and the bearing attached to the main nut is fantastic..It will absolutely not ruin the rubber on the rear upper and lower ball joint. I have supplied a photo showing the tolerance -- it fits perfectly. I put a tiny bit of grease on the rubber just in case to ease any friction, but it's not needed, and I did not do anything special for the following 3 ball joints. This can also do your RTABS (no more drilling out RTABS for me!), and I've used it with my cheapo 12 ton shop press to remove and install front lower control arm ball joints (E30 ball joints fit our control arms, no need to buy new control arms).I show pictures of the setups for how I removed the ball joint, installed the new one, and what it looks like ready to install the ball joint on the rear lower control arm. Keep the threads lubed and clean, as well as the bearing on the nut (the best part of this kit). It will be friction-less as you crank down -- no crazy breaker bar setup needed!I'm thoroughly impressed. The clips on the carrying case haven't even broken yet :)
