Gelmini Gorgonzola Dolce Dop Cinque Stelle Cheese ~3.2 to 3.4 lbs

The first order, got delayed in shipping and arrived late and was inedible. This was immediately corrected by seller and a new shipment of Gorgonzola was delivered in perfect condition…creamy, lovely goodness😊

Once you taste REAL gorgonzola you will never buy any in your local supermarket. This cheese is certified "D.O.P" which means that it is certified by Italy to come from the small area around the town of gorgonzola, and is the real thing. this cheese is creamy and pungent. Unfortunately, it is so good you can't stop eating it. This item SEEMS expensive, but only because it comes in a 3lb size. The per pound price is actually very reasonable for a D.O.P. cheese of this caliber. It lasts a long time if you wrap it properly after each time you cut some and return it to the refrigerator. If you lovwe gorgonzola, you wil not go wrong with this one!

I didn't expect the cheese to be runny, like yogurt, but it is. It tastes pretty good but not spectacular, as some other reviews have said. It was room temperature when it arrived and the ice pack was totally melted, although the weather has been in the 50's and low 60's. It seemed well-packaged, and the hard plastic package was wrapped tightly in plastic wrap. The wrap contained no holes, but the interior foil was ripped open with a hole in the middle the size of the tip of a finger with a rip leading from it. My conclusion is that it was done before wrapping and mailing, which is a concern. As a consequence of the open foil interior wrapping, the runny contents leaked out throughout the interior of the outer plastic container.After tasting the firmer, yet soft, side cheese, my conclusion is that I would not purchase this particular gorgonzola again.
