This book was purchased for 2 Sisters who have been bitten by the horse bug. After scanning the pages and the information contained inside the book, this is the book that will make them better horse ladies.

Got this book for my 10-year-old niece for Christmas. She LOVES horses! It will be interesting to see what, contained in this book, she doesn't already know.

I got this for my 12-year-old granddaughter. I had bought her the Illustrated Book of Horses of North America which she loved but wanted something that told her more things about horses in general. I had been talking to her about the difference in fillies, mares, foals, colts, geldings, studs, etc and so much more. I had shown her where a horse's blind spots are, how they see, etc and just tried to fill her in on everything I could think of that she needed to know. This book does that. It's better than having me talk to her. She can read all these things and go back and refresh her memory anytime. I thought it might be a bit below her age range​, but it has a lot of info packed into such a small book that the writing style is actually very appropriate. I read it myself before giving it to her and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I purchased this book because I'm a horse crazy girl but in reality I'm a middle aged woman who is still horse crazy and I have to say I've only just started reading this book, and boy is it loaded with information, and I love that there are things in this book that I honestly didn't know about horses. It is so informative. I do agree color pictures would have been nice but in no way do the art illustrations or pictures take away from the book.

Cute. Hard cover with No markings inside. Quick delivery!Leafed through just to check it out and see what it was about. Had a lot of facts on horses and one in particular I knew nothing of was the different colored ribbons owners will braid into the horse's tail to warn others of the horse's temperament (biting, kicking, etc) It was accompanied by lots of nice little drawn photos as well.This was a gift for my sister who is turning 8 this year (2016) She was very excited when she opened it at her bday party and exclaimed that it was in the library at her school!

I purchased this book for my 9 year old granddaughter as a Christmas gift. She was going to be attending a Pony Club in the very near future and I thought this might be a great idea for her to familiarize herself with horses and all that it implies. She started reading it right away and said that she liked it very much. She is now part of the Pony Club and says that the book did give her a start on many of the new things she is learning.Very happy with this purchase and would suggest it to anyone who has a Horse-Crazy (or even Horse-Interested) girl.

I purchased this book for my 7 year old Grand daughter. I was lucky enough to be able to help read it to her. She loved the cards and templates. There is a lot factual material which was understandable to her. (She also read to me) She is totally horse mad at the moment and seems to be building up a horse mad group at school. (I think the parents may have second thoughts, when they get this "demand" for their own horse) The book has activities, jokes, special cards to send messages to friends in class. She takes it to bed, and her parents unwrap her hands from it when she goes to sleep. I would recommend this book highly. For a grandfather who does not visit the children as often as he would like, it is often difficult to find the "perfect" gift. For me this was one.

Oh this is a beautiful book for any girl that likes or is interested in horses. There is lots of information on horses (education, information and fun) and even some fun (and really easy!) recipes for both girls and horses! This is an ideal book or gift for any child involved with horses or that just has a new interest. I would say the perfect age for this book is 8/9 years up to about 12 years, maybe a little older even. Hard back book. Would recommend all day!

I brought this book for my niece for her birthday as she is horse crazy! once this arrived, first impressions, a lovely hard back book. Thankfully I started to looked through the book and was left deflated as a lot of the pages were misprinted and unreadable. A big shame and I will be returning this item.

Good book with lots of interesting facts, information and some things to do as well. Daughter (who is 8) loves it, please note it’s American and therefore needs some support with some of the ‘terms/translation/ references’.Not any easy book for an 8 year old to read and understand independently. (Although she wouldn’t agree!)

My granddaughter absolutely loves the book, she says she’s learned so much and reads through it over and over, she it’s the best book ever
