Discovery World Furniture Captain Bed with 6 Drawers (Full, Merlot)

This bed is made from solid wood and while it does take some time to assemble, it is well worth that time for the finished product. The customer service is fantastic. I reached out and received a real person’s response. Not only that, but the pieces fit well together and the sanding job on the wood is great! Very smooth and no splinters AT ALL! The hatch door at the foot of the bed is great and there’s plenty of room for a small “fort” under the bed!!!It is beautiful to boot! I highly recommend this bed. Our daughter can’t wait to get a great night’s sleep on it.

Looks great, well built. My assembly time for a unit including 6 drawer storage unit was 7 hours total, having all the tools and knowing what I’m doing. Here’s some notes to help you assemble it:0. The storage unit screws are really hard to drive in. To make it easier, get yourself a screwdriver that takes bits and stick an Ellen wrench into it. This will give you enough leverage to make it faster and easier.1. Assemble the storage before the bed frame!2. At bed step 9, loosen the screws for all the right angle brackets screwed into piece 1, fit the pieces together, then retighten the bracket screws. It’ll take a bit to get the pieces to align.3. At bed step 10, the two screw holes must be drilled.4. At step 11, the two long unmarked pieces are the bed rails, piece 15.5. Need to drill to install slats and support bar.

I was looking for a bed with drawers to eliminate the need for a dresser since bedroom is small. I looked at several on Amazon and other beds had reviews about being hard to assemble and being cheap. Then I read reviews on this bed and decided to give it a try.I am glad we did. It was very easy to put together with 2 people. My husband had broke his neck playing hockey a month prior and he was still able to help me!It comes shipped in several boxes. Instead of carrying a big box upstairs, we carried the parts up which made it very easy. There are not many parts to put together and the drawers one put together. You just mount it to the bed at the end. Very easy to assemble. The hardest part was the instructions had a couple letters wrong. So look at the pictures and go with that. I can't remember the 2 letters that need to be switched though.The bed is very sturdy and good looking. We are very pleased with the bed!

It was expensive but my daughter loves it, it’s a beautiful piece of furniture and great quality-unlike particle board furniture you get for less.

Good packaging, shipped in 5 boxes. Some rips in cardboard no damage to product. White finish looks nice, some glue stains were present, but wasn't a huge deal to me. The product video lead me to believe much of this company's products were manufactured domestically. This item is 100% imported. A lot of parts and takes several hours to assemble. Nice product, not great value.

I was skeptical buying a bed frame of this size online, but this was a great buy! It came via freight and setting up an appointment for delivery was super easy. It was packaged very well and all parts were intact and undamaged. Assembly was straight forward and fairly simple. My daughter and I put it together in a couple hours. We were missing a drawer pull, but customer service was great and we had one sent out quickly. The bed is sturdy and the 6 drawers give a lot of storage. Plus you have the door in the footboard to store additional things behind the drawer. I would definitely recommend this bed.

Uses real wood (not particle board) which is great!. We had found a similar bed at the furniture store for twice the money. This is just as good, if not better! My only complaint is that nothing was labeled - so assembling took some time. The directions were pretty straight forward but would be helpful if it labeled in the pix which direction the “finished” side should face. After a few bumps we got it together. I put it together mainly by myself and it probably took about 4 hours altogether. Does take at least one other person during some portions of the build process to hold pieces stable and level - as well as for lifting the headboard onto the frame.Seller was very responsive when I had questions regarding shipping.

I'm impressed. The Merlot color is beautiful, and the assembly process is (fairly) easy. The hardest part was attaching the support brackets for the central support bar. The mounting marks (black dots) didn't quite match the provided bracket, so I measured and made my own marks (they were close).I couldn't find the bed I wanted at the local stores or online, so I was considering building my own bed. Then I ran across this one. For the price I couldn't build a bed this easily or that looked so nice. So glad I bought this!Unlike some reviewers, there were no issues with the materials. Shipping boxes came in great shape, nothing was cracked or damaged inside, and all the pieces and hardware were there.I was able to assemble this bed mostly on my own, but I did need help when attaching the side rails to the head/footboards, and help placing the bookshelf onto the headboard. The completed product looks fantastic!I'm surprised at how easily the drawers glide, and how much the 6-drawer unit holds. I was able to place 75% of my current dresser contents into the drawers.
