Great hot coffee that is ready in the morning when you want it by using the programmable feature. If you don't know when you're going to get up, prep the water and the coffee the night before, press the button to brew, and in a few minutes you've got your coffee. A win, win either way!We used to be big fans of the Braun coffee maker but they are no longer made and so we decided to try out the Cuisnart refurbished 12-Cup. It looked brand new when it arrived but did not have the gold filter as stated; the seller immediately gave us a ten dollar refund to purchase one on Amazon which was more than adequate to cover the cost. We really like the coffee maker with the possible exception of a problem that is inherent in all white plastic coffee pot lids, and that is staining. Soaking the lid in a half cup of white vinegar and very hot water helps tremendously; I've also filled the pot to the brim with hot water and vinegar to remove staining on the inside glass as well on the white pour spout edges. We're going on five months with this appliance and are liking it, including the charcoal filters which have helped tremendously with our extremely hard water.

This is a great coffee pot. I like the richness it brews and how quiet and quickly it makes a pot of coffee. I prefer it greatly over the Kreug we got rid of. The pot is a little odd the way the top is attached but not a deal breaker. We are very happy with the purchase.(Update) This was a great coffee maker while it lasted, Amazon customer service is awesome. They refunded the purchase price and shipping. We bought the newer model and I will be reviewing it soon. This is the first time I have had an issue with anything refurbished from Amazon. I guess I was due.

Have owned one of these for about 7 years. Still works but looks a bit worse for wear. And the carafe lid no longer fits tightly so leaks when pouring if your not careful. The pressure from the filter holder above and I guess heat has definitely pushed it in and warped it. The gold filter has also started to come apart along the top edge. Decided rather than replace carafe and filter alone, I'd just invest in this. It's a good unit, capable of making a couple of mugs (about 4 coffee-size cups, which are not a measuring cup, you know) or a full 12 coffee cups. Of course, the less you make the more coffee you have to use for the same strength, so I usually make 6 and just turn the machine off after making. Find the coffee acceptable reheated in my microwave. Better than letting it sit on anyway. Thought about a Keurig, but was disinclined to play with filling the little baskets, and the pre-packaged ones are expensive. No point in shelling out for more stainless and pointless programming. HOWEVER, as several reviewers have said, unlike a new machine, this refurbished model comes with no gold filter basket. It does include several paper filters and one carbon water filter. I don't use the latter anyway, but use water from the Culligan water filter attached to my kitchen faucet (available here at Amazon, and a very nice unit). This refurbished one looks brand new and I'm hoping will do as well as the new one.

It works great but have bug's getting into it

My husband and I have gotten sick and tired of spending money on expensive small appliances that don't hold up. When our pricey Hamilton Beach Percolator broke down after less than a year we decided to take a chance on a "reconditioned" coffee maker. Based on other customer reviews we purchased this Cuisinarat. It arrived in a timely manner, box and contents looking in brand new perfect condition.I followed the enclosed instructions for how to set up and program it. They were very easy to follow. We usually only drink coffee in the morning, but were eager to try this out. Yesterday afternoon we enjoyed some of the best tasting coffee we've had in a long time. We followed the advice in the instructions as to how much coffee to use and the brew came out exactly to our liking. The best thing is the coffee is really HOT. Have never had it this hot with any other coffee maker and it is great. The coffee maker is just a bit too big to fit into our appliance cupboard (thanks to the other things crammed in there!)-so it is sitting on the kitchen counter, but for a coffee maker it is pretty attractive, and I don't mind having it out in the open. The clock face is small and kind of hard to read, that minor complaint is the only negative I have to say about this. Am crossing my fingers that it holds up, because as I said, it's making the best tasting coffee I've ever had.

Very, disappointed. When the machine worked it did what it was supposed to do. However, after 10 months, the program function stopped working. Every other function worked. And because it's been 10 months, I lose my $60.

When I was looking for a replacement coffee maker I was sorting based on price and looking at coffee makers rated 4 stars or better. This came up as one of the lowest priced options. As a certified refurbished model it was about $100 less than a new one. This coffee maker just blows away everything else I've seen at this price point. Coffee is hot, much hotter than my last cheaper coffee maker. It has great features like being able to program how long the hot plate stays on. The buttons and knobs have a good quality feel to them. The nit appears brand new. I can find no evidence of "refurbishment". I highly recommend it.

This is my second one, I broke the first when moving. It pours nicely, brews an enjoyable cup of coffee, and does not leave it tasting burnt when you get to the end of the pot.
