I love this can opener. It replaces the exact same one that I bought in 1988 (for $14.99!!). Couldn't find this model in stores, but I saw one pictured in a box on Amazon. One reviewer said it was "essentially the same one she needed to replace." That reviewer said it was the cutting blade that was dull, same as mine.So I ordered the new one, three days later it was here. All I had to do was slip the new one onto the already-mounted bracket (from the first identical opener). I could also have just used the new cutting blade since it easily comes out for cleaning. I had tried cleaning the blade but it still didn't work. Well after 26 years I'm not complaining. What an increase in price, tho! If the new one lasts as long as the first one I'm happy.

The Can Opener Sent To Me Was Heavily Used And Dirty. It Was An Entirely Different Model Than The One Pictured. I Bought It So I Could Used the mount I Already Had Installed.. For Almost A $100 I Feel Like Was Robbed. This Was The First Bad Experience From Amazon I've Had. I'll Still Use AmazOn but I'll Quit Recommending It To Friends fOr Fear of Making Another Costly mistake.

this is a replacement for an earlier one. HOWEVER, the item I received was a repackaged item not original mfg packaging. The screw items were loose and the bag had been torn open. The box its self was retaped serval time. It appears to never have been used so we will see.

This model is the exact one that my mother used 50 years ago. Which means I know it will last for a long time. In her day, they built things to last, it was not a throwaway society. I could not believe that I saw her old can opener, I knew I did not have to look any further, SOLD!

Had a different brand that lasted 20 years ,hoping this last just as long. Works great.

I bought this to replace the same one I bought more than 20 years ago. When the old one broke my husband took off all the mounting bracket and hardware. The new mounting bracket is not as sturdy as the old one and it does not have the bag opener and knife sharpener on the side

I disliked the price but IT APPEARS TO BE NEW AS ADVERTISED! I remember my mother had one and I wanted one like it. It takes up no room on your counter and easy to use!
