the quality is like 3x better than the builder screen I replaced. Watch out for a mistake that I made. I wanted the screen to be taut with no wrinkles. I pulled it tight while installing the spline. It came out great looking but I over achieved. When I installed it, I saw that I had a slight bow in the middle along the length. I had to add a spacer to catch the latch. But it slides great and is a very nice unit.

It's well made, sturdy and a good price. However, Need a magnatized drill bit to insert the screws in the extension piece to the frame. Need a drill driver with high torque to slowly insert the screws in the extension piece. Other than that it's very nice and medium easy to put together...I have a thremo tru french door to the basement patio. To buy a thermo tru slider would cost $200 for the top piece to fit their recommened slider, and $200 for the slider.

The door arrived ahead of schedule in cardboard tube. I actually have two doors that meet in the middle and you have to find an astragal and different locking mechanism, I was disappointed that the spline is located on the outside of the door rather than the inside and doesn't have a good appearance, fit and finish good, smoothly operates. I will order a second door as this door is very strong and not floppy at all and make the necessary modifications. I put in a heavier screen as the supplied screen was very light "duty".

When ordering a kit like this, I rarely expect it to be pristine but I do expect that when I order a “new” kit, I get a new kit. However, I received a kit that was obviously opened before (see picture of one end “sealed” by two pieces of packing tape). Upon further inspection, I found one piece of the frame had a dent in it, package of screws had been ripped open, scratches on the paint of another piece of the frame, and the instructions were folded inside out (not that this part bothers me, it’s just another indicator that someone else had received this kit before me).As for the skills needed for putting the screen door together…moderate skills are needed. Having the right tools helps (I.e., long PH2 bit for drill driver, and one reg Philips screwdriver). When assembling the frame, use the standard Philips screwdriver to set the screw into the frame, then the drill driver to complete to process. Attach top and bottom pieces to one side piece first, then attach the other side piece.For the screen, I start at about 6” from one corner, working towards the closest corner. As you work the spline in, stretch it a bit as you work it to make it easier to push in with the roller. Work the roller slowly so it doesn’t jump out of the channel and potentially cut the screen.Frame of the screen door is sturdy. Wheels are a bit smaller than my older screen door but works well enough. Latch hardware is plastic so not expecting it to last long. I’ll probably look for 3rd party parts at some point. May also change the screen for one that is made for a house with pets.I would recommend this product but I can’t since I don’t want to recommend something where you might not get a “new” product.

I bought the 96x36 version. Packaging was great and arrived undamaged. Good replacement for a production quality door. The materials are good quality. A few tips: use a padded surface when assembling; the powder coating scratches easily. The directions are minimalist and assumes you have experience with screen/spline installation. Lastly, the locking mechanism can’t be reversed. My installation is left handed and the padlock symbols on the lock are upside down. It operates fine and I’ll be the only one to notice it.

Latch is cheap. The door, for me, was pretty simple to put together and install. Someone mentioned the holes are too small for the screws. I had no problem installing the self tapping screws and the holes widen as you screw them in. My only issue was with the door latch. The button to lock the screen door came completely off and the metal bar that held it on fell inside the frame. I had to disassemble that side of the door to find the bar. The spring to the latch is missing so the door lock is very loose. It functions sort-of, but you can get it to unlock by just lifting the handle a couple times. I don't mind much about the screen door locking as there is really no point to it as long as the sliding door locks. It's a screen door, if someone wants to get through it they will. Trying to get in contact with the company seems to be not worth the hassle. Many reviews have negative things to say about their customer service. I will probably just use it as it is or try to replace the latch with another brand.

Very satisfied with this heavy duty screen door. It is much better than the one we replaced, which was quite flimsy and did not have a nice locking handle on it like this one does. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time with a damaged screen, but as soon as I made a report, they sent a new screen quickly. This is the mark of a good company that when things don’t go exactly as planned, they respond promptly. That’s why I gave them five stars.

Easy to install with little effort and fits my sliding door perfectly. I can sit inside and not worry about the bugs coming in. It works very well worth the price.
