I bought 2 packages for a total of 4 chairs to be used as dining room table chairs. It took me about 2.5 hours (or 1 Chicago Cubs baseball game!) to assemble all 4 chairs. Each chair required 10 screws of varying lengths. Included in each box is everything you need to assemble the chairs yourself, including a small hex tool. The instructions indicate that 2 people are needed to complete assembly but I was able to do it on my own. The hex tool does work, but it made my fingers hurt eventually, and I am keeping the tool to tighten up the screws in the future as needed.I did find it odd that there was packaging differences between my two boxes. One box was clearly damaged, had less styrofoam packaging inside, and all the nuts, bolts and screws were just throw into a single bag all mixed together. The other box had no damage, much more interior styrofoam and padding packaging, and the nuts and bolts were all already threaded onto each individual screw. However, even with the differences, the chairs themselves were in perfect condition. My family guessed that possibly the damaged box had been a return.At any rate, I have the 4 chairs assembled and in use regularly by 2 adults and 1 very wiggly child. I noticed after a week that the chair my child sits in actually seems loose already, and I tightened those screws as tight as humanly possible! My child pushes on the back of the chair both with his hands and by leaning back in the seat. So just keep your hex tool as the instructions suggest.

Ashley Furniture continues to satisfy with a great product. These chairs are of much higher quality than others we have tried. They are solid wood construction and the little touches, such as the superb packing, washers already on the screws, and a hex wrench with a longer handle for easier turning.It does take a lot of turns to screw in the chair legs. I recommend sawing off the short end of one of the hex wrenches and using the long portion in a power drill to expedite fastening. Don’t over tighten, you can easily over tighten when using a power drill and pull the screw holder loose (now how do I know that…..)Tip: When tightening the back of the chair on, put in all six screws and get them started before tightening. Also, if the chair legs seem unlevel, loosen these same screws and then push one side of the bottom down and retighten. I pushed down on the left side on both of my chairs and they became level.The chairs smell like leather and I especially like the rolled beading along the bottom and back of the chairs, very stylish and comfortable.Overall they are a lovely set of furniture. I am very pleased.

I purchased 6 on these chairs. The assembly on the first chair took an hour. I assembled completely on my kitchen bar with the chair upside down (legs pointing to ceiling) but left all screws loose. I then flipped it over, placed on the floor had my wife sitting in the chair. I tighten and no good. tried again but put books in the chair for weight and laying on the floor under the chair. again it was not level. I then loosen all screws and placed upright on the glass table and no weight in chair. Bada Boom Bada Bing it worked. I was able to do the remaining five chairs in an hour and a half.The chairs are now about 3 months old and used everyday. We have had no issues and the chairs are holding up just fine. Loved the price and they look amazing.

These are so easily to put together, fantastic quality and comfort! I bought two pair and saved $118 per chair over the furniture store versions and I know they were put together perfectly in 10 to 12 minutes per chair. So in less than an hour, I saved $507.40 including tax! They come packed with great care and zero damage. I couldn't have had the furniture store do a better job without scratches too! Instructions with pictures allows little or no frustration and is rewarding when you're done and place these beautiful chairs around a table. Leveling takes 30 seconds and is something you won't get from the furniture store, and these are the better furniture store chairs. And I get so many compliments on these chairs, especially when someone sits in them, even my 245# neighbor who purchased the same chairs a month later!

Great price! The chairs look nice, and are comfortable. They seem pretty sturdy when is sit on them. Both chairs I purchased rocks a bit, but I'll prop up the short leg with a piece of rubber. One person can assemble them, though I'd recommend getting a drill bit instead of doing it by hand. When using the electrical drill, do it with care and slowly. I used the electrical drill to get all the screw in but not tight. Then I use the hex tool that come with the box to hand tighten them. So far I love the chairs and put in another order to get two more. I hope these chairs can last years.

Bought these for my kitchen table. For the price you are getting what you pay for and more. They are not high end high quality chairs. That being said I knew that when I purchased them. Look at the price. I am very happy with them. My 3, ( ok also my 10 year old helped) so my 4 boys put all 4 chairs together in less than an hour. They are very good chairs. If you know what you’re paying for you will be happy. If you are expecting high end chairs. You will not. Looks wise - aesthetically they are quite beautiful!

Good color, much like the photo online. Comfortable and sturdy. I added some self-adhesive felt pads on the feet to help the chairs glide.Three out of 4 chairs were no problem to assemble. Follow the directions, to leave the screws just snug, and then gradually tighten them all sequentially. The fourth chair had an alignment problem, but it worked out with more time.The tip to use a hex driver in a power tool was a time saver. The screw diameters are described as a fraction of an inch, but the lengths are in mm, so I was not sure which size system was used for the internal hex on the screw heads. It turns out to not matter, because it is either 5/32-inch, or 4-mm, and the two only differ by about a thousandth of an inch! Either driver should fit.Enjoy!
