SEI Furniture Iron World Map 3D Sculpture Wall Art, Gold Brushed

Love it! One note - it is an artistic interpretation of the world map, so there are countries missing or not quite right, which bothered me for a bit at first but now its grown on me. If you are good with that, then this is a fun piece of decor and an excellent value for the price.

I choose iron world map wall art because my dad loved maps of every sort. I know he would have loved this piece of wall art. This piece of wall art does look great on my wall, it adds a certain flair to my living room. Since putting it up we have gotten so many compliments. It is sturdy, durable and much more than I expected. It was very easy to hang. I have recommended it to family and friends.

I have purchased numerous metal wall art items, all of which are of higher quality in both fit and finish. Item comes in two halves which connect on the middle with 3 poorly aligned screws, one I had to out my pliers and bend to properly fit. The horizontal lines on each half don't match up perfectly, but it is acceptable given this is art work and not a mechanical device/assemble. The finish in one spot was cracked to the point two metal metal flakes cracked off. I used some super glue to correct this. One other area had a minor scuff which I used a brown marker.Paint looks good, but no idea of this paint is "safe" as some other metal art work of half the price will clearly say. It's made in china, I have purchased larger, heavy gauge made in USA art work for less.Why did I keep it? It's art work, and this was for an office and I could not find another item like this. However with that said, I would probably not go back and purchase it again considering how much fiddling around I had to do.....If you want a metal world map, buy it, it's descent. If you are only looking for some generic wall art, look elsewhere.

This is a very sharp looking piece. It is pretty substantial and perfectly fits on the wall behind my couch in my living room. I have gotten many compliments on it, and I think it makes a great impression.I knocked one star off my review because while the assembly only consisted of screwing in 3 screws, I found it to be a little more difficult than it had to be because the holes didn't match up nicely. With that said, that is definitely not a reason to not get this piece of art.

I love this sculpture. Its on other shopping sites, but is more affordable here. Its very sturdy and is a very nice size.very nice shiny gold.

Shipment arrived a few days after ordering through Amazon. Everything seemed okay. The box as not damaged and looked brand new. However, we became suspicious as soon as we opened the box. Since this ships as two pieces they are temporarily held together by plastic tie wraps that can only be removed by cutting them off. There were three of them and all three had been cut off and were laying in the bottom of the box. I removed the item from the box and everything looked to be okay - no damage during shipping. There are three nuts/bolts that hold the two halves together. Two of there were aligned perfectly. One was off by over 1", and you could see it from the front (it is supposed to be behind one of the continents). If you consider that the tie wraps were cut, you'd have to figure someone else had purchased this but returned it due to the misaligned nut/bolt.There is a customer service number in the instructions(they are in Texas), so I called. I wanted to know if I should send it back to Amazon for a replacement, or would SEI address this directly. No one called back. There is a customer service email address, so I sent them a message stating this unit was defective and what action they wanted me to take. Yes, I could have just shipped it back to Amazon for a refund, but it isn't Amazon's fault that this unit was bad. Well, it's been almost 10 days and no call, no response to my email.There are other quality issues with this as well. It is poorly manufactured. The welds on the "latitude" lines way off, so they are not even close to parallel. This is a bit of abstract art, so it's okay if things are not perfect. In some cases it's a bit difficult to even identify the continents. But to be this poorly welded is inexcusable. Yes, it's from China, so the quality is not up to par.It's a real pain to mount on the wall, too. The unit is curved to give it a 3D look. That means the mounting screws have to stick out of the wall about 1.25 inches. It needs to be mounted to a stud to be really secure.Overall, I'm very disappointed with the unit. While it looks okay on the wall, the quality is very poor. SEI customer service is non-existent. I could ship it back to Amazon for a refund, but I'm not sure it's worth the bother.I would not recommend this unit. Poor quality, hard to mount, and no customer service from SEI.

Easy to assemble looks great as a center piece on a wall

I really like it, but the hanging instructions are bulls***. It says to put the screws in until they are 3mm away from the wall... well, in order for the metal hanging things on the world map to actually reach the screws they had to be TWO INCHES away from the wall. Which means I won't be surprised if it ends up ripping right out of the wall. It's hanging -- for now at least -- and looks great. I just can't believe how far off the freakin instructions were......:
