Mic will NOT stay in position. Cheap plastic.
Super cheap feeling plastic and the "gooseneck" seems like a rubber tube. It will NOT stay in position and doesn't even come setup to be straight to the base. Didn't even try it. Returned it once I saw I couldn't adjust it properly. I also hate the way the cord fits in the base. I guarantee you that wire will be broken after not too long.

Used in Classroom
My wife uses this in her classroom with the desktop computer, to record piano accompaniments for the choir. The sound quality is acceptable except for the space in time it takes between turning on the mic to record and moving to the piano, then again after leaving piano to turn off the record. There is a lot of noise in that beginning and ending space of time. It also came any user instructions as to volume and settings to use on the computer in order to achieve the best result when recording. That said, it was affordable and achieves the purpose for which it was purchased, and the final product is better than a phone recording which was the previous method. The mic stand is pretty useless as the mic spins in it. I ended up using a small piece of card stock to secure the mic in the the little base stand so it didn't wobble/fall.

Wobbly, quiet
Using Ubuntu 18, this microphone is soft, barely adequate. Must be near the mouth. Maybe my expectations are too high?Construction: no ballast, three feet, wobbly. The gooseneck is not very stiff.

Good quality sound, poor construction
When looking for a simple table top microphone that gives good sound it's hard. This device is great for sound (clear sound, no latency, no distortion), but the boom is crooked and made out of a semi-soft material that doesn't keep its shape well and the base is light weight and doesn't attach well. I'm surprised that Audio-Technica didn't build it out of better materials - I have two of their ear phones and those are very well designed and built. One thing though: Audio-Technica definitely gets the sound part right, and when looking for a mic, that's the most important part.
