These are awesome cute self watering pots. I love them. One of the water gauges got stuck some but other than that they were all great.

Looks good, sturdy, has water level indicator. Very happy with this purchase.

Perfect description! Some of these self pots are horrid BUT THIS ONE is a perfect!!! 10/10 would definitely recommend

It came in perfect condition and exactly what I need. I use the outer pots as decorative pots for my orchids. Wish this one have different sizes. 4'', 5.5'' would be something I wish to have

These would be so much better if bottom watering was easier to manage. I don't like top watering. Pulling the floats out of the platers base to bottom water is difficult and causes the plastic viewer to separate from the base of the float. Glue could fix this but you shouldn't have to fix a product you have already paid for. If you don't mind a little DIY its worth a purchase.

I use with leca, and it works great! Water meter helps me not have check on water in and out. Makes things a lot easier ! Not to mention its sturdy and looks simple which i love about!

The overall design on these pots is pretty common for self watering.Pro's:-Feet instead of rope means no moldy rope and no wicking. The water can absorb straight into the soil-Great size for hanging planters, 4.3 self watering pot is hard to findCon's:-Zero options for bottom watering, these are top watering only which attracts gnats and somewhat defeats the purpose of the pot-No way to pour water down a spout to see the meter rise; you either have to wait a long time patiently while waiting for the water to fill the bottom through the top of the soil or pull out the meter altogether and continue reinserting it to see where you are at-The insert is not a tight or satisfying fit like other brands, which makes it feel a little cheap and leaves it vulnerable to spills and leaks

This planter is a nice size for transferring a smallish plant you've just water-rooted into LECA or pon substrate (I've not used these with soil). And as long as you have substrate in the "feet" of the inner pot, the self-watering aspect works as it should.The water level indicator is useless - even dangerous. It doesn't float freely. If you're filling an empty reservoir, it will suddenly jump up when you've already overfilled. That makes me worry it won't fall back down when the water gets low.IMHO, an unpredictably inaccurate gauge is worse than no gauge at all. I'd suggest just not using it. And that helps with another problem. The inner pot is completely recessed into the outer pot and impossible to remove without removing the water gauge to reach in and (sort of) have a handle. If you plant in pon, the inner pot is heavy enough that even this method is difficult.Overall, these look nice and they do actually self-water without needing a separate string wick. But I suggest throwing out the water gauge to have any hope of being able to separate the inner and outer pots.Will probably continue using, but wouldn't purchase again.EDIT - July 9, 2024 -I figured out why the water level gauge sticks. It's not (only) because it's too wide for the tube. But the flat bottom of the float and the flat bottom of the tube cap tend to stick together once wet, due to surface tension and probably other various goop that builds up over time.I used flush cutters (scissors, wire cutters, etc. could do the same) to cut much of the bottom cap material away. The float still stays in the tube, but the trimmed cap reduces the amount of surface the float can stick to (see photo). oat can stick to. The water level indicators I've modified all seem to float more freely and work better.
