These are the handiest things ever. It is often difficult to thread a needle and this makes the task so simple. I would highly recommend them. You can not find them at many fabric stores so it was a welcome surprise to find them at Amazon.

The product is great. I love not having to put glasses on to see to thread the needle. However the order I received today was in a sloppy package. the box was almost as large as a shoe box to hold 5 small cards of 5 needles each. They were loose in the box with only some air bags to cover them. One of the needle card plastic holders was broken and the needles had fallen out and only one was loose in the box, the others must have fallen out between the cracks and openings in the corners. So I received 4 complete needle cards of 5 each and one loose needle from the 5th box. I would like another card of needles please to replace what was lost.

They were easy to thread but every few stitches the thread came out Had to rethread it many times. Amazon refunded me. Grateful for that.

For someone with a vision issue, these are a godsend; however, they are also finicky. I find them easy to thread and have no problems with them unthreading as long as I keep an eye on the direction the thread is heading. If I allow it to go sideways or toward me, it will come out of the notch. As long as it is oriented away from me, it stays put. I ordered the size 80 first and promptly broke two of them. As mentioned in other reviews, they are very delicate. I’ve had more luck with the size 90. They are fine for many fabrics, but certainly not for delicate or loosely woven ones since the opening on the side of the needle catches and snags the fabric. Other reviewers have mentioned problems with the needle unthreading after the first few stitches. I have not had an issue with this as long as I hold the needle and bobbin threads with my free hand for the first few stitches, maintaining a slight tension on them, so they don’t get somehow tangled. I have always been in the habit of doing this, even before using these needles. Somehow, those first few stitches can be problematic. Finally, I have learned to not backstitch with these needles. They simply don’t like it. Having said all this, am still grateful for the easy and quick threading and am very glad I found these.

The needles do what they say they will do: easy threading of the eye. That is because one side of the eye is open. Therein lies the problem, however. By eliminating one leg of the eye of the needle, the needle only has one support at the eye instead of two. Hence, the needle is very fragile.

These needles work perfectly for those of us who need help with seeing how to thread the sewing machine.

So easy to thread. When you do a back stitch, the thread often comes out of the needle.

THIS IS A VERY GOOD ITEM TO HAVE IN YOUR MACHINE DRAWER FOR WHEN YOUR EYES ARE TIRED AND YOU CAN'T SEE TO THREAD THE MACHINE NEEDLE. I HAD NO IDEA THEY MADE A PRODUCT LIKE THIS AND PUT "SELF THREADING MACHINE NEEDLE" INTO COMPUTER AND UP THEY POPPED. BOY, WAS I EVER SURPRIZED. HAVEN'T BEEN WITHOUT THEM SINCE. THEY ARE JUST GREAT.
