Wonderful Wardrobe for Wanderers

Spacious, easy to put together. I love the way it fit perfectly in a small space. It holds my coats and sweaters well with a shelf above. The draw is large enough to hold many pairs of shoes. Very happy with this wardrobe!

Nice looking and good quality

I read all the reviews and a note stating that this item is frequently returned. It was the only product that fit our needs. It is a really good product and a decent price! I’ve assembled Sauder products before and despite comments about assembly problems, we had none. It comes in a HEAVY box. My advice would be definitely 2 people - it’s a large, heavy cabinet and was much easier with 2 people - and place the pieces on cardboard or blanket because it is easily scratched (understandable because of the material). When it was completed, it was perfect. In fact, I wish I’d have remembered to use wood glue on the dowels just in case a cam came loose later. I wasted a couple months deliberating about whether or not to get this based on reviews, because we are very happy with it. If you are not a competent assembler of flat box products, maybe you should skip. You need to follow the directions perfectly - no doubt the reason for some of the crappy reviews. Doors closed evenly, stores a reasonable amount of clothing and neat, clean lines.

TLDR: Like it

TLDR: Package was heavy. Adjusting the doors and drawer to fit correctly was hard for me. Overall satisfied with the end product and would do it over again.Important disclosure knowledge for the reader. I am a middle aged women with a crap back and a bad knee and no one readily available to help me build things.I recieved the delivery 1 day early to my condo lobby. I knew it would be heavy, but I like to assume I can somehow manage. I began to slowly “walk it” to the elevator by advancing one corner after another. Eventually another resident arrived and helped.Getting it to the room I wanted was the hardest part of this build. After 2 days of stepping around the package that was blocking my hallway, I decided at 6pm on Friday now was the time. Probably against all recommendations, I used a knife to carve the top off the box, because I could not move it, or figure out how to open it without lifting. This worked out great. I slowly pulled out the pieces and moved them to the final destination. At this point I was feeling pretty overwhelmed and highly suspicious of all the different colored pieces in the package.(turned out they are just to weight the cabinent, so don’t panic they are out of view) I decided to sit and read the directions before starting. After a quick flip through them, I was back to the person that knew she could carry the box to her apartment alone. Filled with underserved belief in her abilities!!Recomendation (ammature tip): this build is exponentially easier if you have a pouch. Any kind of pouch will do. A kangaroo pouch, one of those brown pouches that go on your belt, or for me, it was a hoodi with a front pocket. Having already being handicapped by my lack of a third arm, this pouch came in clutch for holding screws needed and my screw driver.I began to build cabinent. It seemed easy enough at first, besides the random “problem” screws. I spent almost 4 hours building it, although I often took breaks to stare at it despondently, and feel hopeless. I repeatedly sent texts to my friends with update on my step progress. It didn’t look good for me. I swore I would break at step 9 and continue the next day. To be fair there was nothing I was not capable of doing, or maybe that is my underserved believe again.I finally was able to stand it up and then my “break “ converted to sitting on the couch slowly screwing on door hinges. If you are a motivated fast worker, you can probaly cut several hours off my time. This is where I ran into issues, but this could be a “me” problem as I can glance over at the pantry and notice similar problems. It was very very hard for me to get the gap between the 2 doors uniform. Finally, after many adjustments I declared it to be “good enough” and moved onto the drawer. Ahhhh the drawer it was not my redeemer. When I rolled it into the bottom it was completely off and stuck out slightly. I again adjusted and adjusted the screws, but alas, building cabinets was clearly not my calling, and I soon also decided I no longer cared and it was passable.Side note: I was absolutely delighted by the direction that said “zZzzzz almost done take a nap!” I loved the little jokes through the directions, I credit them with my lack of tears during my “breaks”.After I was done, I rewarded myself with a glass bottle coke, which was a ridiculous idea at that time of night. I wanted to tell everyone about my accomplishments, but I decided it was sadly too late to text wardrobe pics to people. All in all I was pretty pleased with the end product, as well as myself.

Worst Amazon Purchase Ever, and I'm Not Exaggerating

If I could give negative stars I would. I bought this product based on the good reviews, but when it arrived there was clearly damage to the package. I opened it up and sure enough, the pieces inside were damaged. I had purchased the Amazon assembly service, and the assembly tech arrived but left because it was clear the unit needed to be replaced. So I processed a return and four days later UPS brought a replacement and took back the old one. (I had to repair the torn cardboard and tape it up, which is 20 minutes I wish I had back.) So the new one arrived and the packaging looked okay. The assembly tech came and opened it up, and said it looked okay, so he proceeded to assemble it. An hour and a half later he said he was done and I came to look at it. The front doors had major gouges in them, and the insides had deep scratches. Along the edges and top corners, there were chipped areas. So now I'm faced with the hassle of trying to get a refund for the wardrobe as well as the cost of the assembly. Plus, the unit is now assembled and I suspect UPS won't take it that way. I'm considering just donating it to the Salvation Army and chalking this up to a hard lesson learned.Let me also say that even if the unit arrived without damage, the materials and finish are extremely cheap. It is made from the lowest grade particle board I've ever seen. If you run your fingers along an unfinished edge, the chips just fall out of the board. The finish is painted on and looks like very cheap dorm-room furniture.Don't waste your time and money on this piece of garbage.

Great fit to the room

The media could not be loaded. Well built and looks good, only downside side is instructions are little hard to follow, but it’s not huge things for us!
