Every dog you have ever heard of, and a lot that you never heard of! Very nice book filled with information.

Great pictures and information. Fantastic resource for researching, and I like it better than online resources.

I just love this book of dog portraits. I don’t own a dog but I do find them to be fascinating creatures. Just reading little sections makes me happy in the morning.I kinda wish I could get a dog but those cold morning walks in the winter, the cost of vet visits, allergies, etc. keep me from doing so but if I were to decide on getting a dog as a companion this book would be a big help in deciding what to look for. Right now I am leaning toward a lurcher.

This gives a good overview of dogs. I do find the symbols kind of confusing - if it’s shaded the dog is good with kids or not good with other dogs. But it didn’t very dark and so I think That part could be clearer imo. This is just really vague kind descriptions. they did a good job of covering lots of current breeds. I would still like a book that goes more in depth to the dogs behavior/ temperament . But that would need to be a huge book ....I found some of these descriptions still a bit general... it’s a good intro to breeds but if you know what breed you’re leaning toward then maybe get a book just about that specific kind.

I noticed a couple breeds were missing, I'm not sure if they're not recognized or the book hasn't been updated but it is a great read.

What a great and informative book. I have searched for a good breed book and tried several others. many were too basic or filled with errors. This one is very informative and great pictures.
