Silverado "Beam Bounce" - that agonizing vibration
I have a 2001 Silverado Extended Cab and currently experiencing some vibration on concrete slabs between 40-60 mph. This vibration issue is known as the "Beam Bounce" and it only shakes the cab making it a very uncomfortable ride. If you are having the same problem, there is a service bulletin to upgrade the new rear cab mounts but just for one top mount is about $50 and $25 for the lower mount. These classic Silverado has eight cab mount locations! After ordering 2 top and 2 bottom GM OEM mounts for only the rear, costing me $150 plus $30 for shipping, I decided to try these polyurethane bushings out after there was a delay on the order of the GM mounts. Long story short, these polyurethane mounts came in within two days, thanks to Amazon Prime! After raising and removing the old bushings, I installed the new ones; 2 at the very rear and 2 right below the ext door, both top and bottom mounts. Finally I lowered the jack, torque all 8 bolts (18mm) to 60 ft-lbs and took the truck for a test drive on a known vibrating area of the freeway. My initial reaction, I was very impressed that these mounts has nearly eliminated the vibration issue. There is a noticeable lift, like I feel like I'm sitting higher. There is a nice cornering response and tighter feel, somewhat like a lowered sports car. I am very satisfied with this product and that is only with 4 mounts installed. I can't wait to install the front 4 mounts. One last note, from start to finish with 4 mounts took me about 1.5 hours with basic basic hand tools, a 2.5 floor jack, and 2 jack stands. Good luck and I hope this review will help anyone with this issue.

Just right!
Great product! Amazon said this wouldn’t fit my 2007 gmc 2500hd classic duramax but I knew if it said 2001-2006 then it would fit my 07 classic and it did. The old rubber ones were shot. As for install, gotta loosen up all the cab and radiator support bolts and jack it up just enough to get the old out and new in. The radiator support bolts can be removed without undoing anything except the plastic wheel well liner but it’s not for the faint hearted. A lot of reviews complaining about a stiff ride or vibrations since these are harder than the stock ones but it’s a 3/4 truck and I didn’t buy it for the ride quality. I really don’t notice that much of a harsh ride or vibration over the stock bushings.

Excellent!!!!!
Perfect fit for my 2004 Silverado 2500hdImproved the ride quality a lot.No more clunking sounds coming from the cab and frame movement. I could not find a confirmed torque spec on the mounting bolts so I torqued all bolts to10 ft lbs drove a couple of miles and increased the torque 2 ft lbs on all.I continued to do the same process periodically over the next couple weeks and the bushings seated nice and even on the washers. Also I coated all the bushings with silicone grease and put them in the freezer overnight which shrank them and made them hard as a rock, they fit like a glove on install making it a quick and easy job.

The old mounts were like having marshmallows attaching the body to the frame
I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4x4 Crew Cab with 8.1L and Allison automatic transmission. My body mounts were shot after 250k miles, so these made a big difference. Afterwards my truck seemed much more attached to the road, and didn't wallow around over bumps. The old mounts were like having marshmallows attaching the body to the frame. The common complaint of "frame beaming" was eliminated. Installation is pretty simple. Remove all the bolts on one side, and then raise the body up on that side, and replace the upper bushings. Tighten the bolts once you have all the upper bushings in place. Then swap to the other side and repeat. Initially driving afterwards there was a lot more vibration and buzzing than before. After a few hundred miles this has diminished quite a bit. I initially wondered if I should have kept the stock upper bushings and simply replace the lower bushings which were all toast. After some miles I'd say it's fine with the whole kit. It would be really simple to do lower bushings only for anyone thinking about this. The lowers are much smaller than the uppers, and my stock ones were in much worse shape than the large upper mounts. I did go back and retighten the bolts after ~1000miles, but all the bolts were still tight (55ft-lbs). Overall, I'm liking the improved ride and handling. The truck feels much more confident and in control.

Massive improvement on a high mileage truck!!
Installed these on a 2004 chevy 2500. Truck was walking all over the road and handling terrible , especially on rough roads.. Putting weight in the bed helped but not enough to be worth it. I knew my cab mounts where toast( truck has 244k miles on it) but I had no idea replacing them would make so much difference! Truck is stable even on wash board and handles/ rides like it used to! The only down side is the road noise is more noticeable and some of my previous rattles n squeaks are back.. Just the improved handling alone is well work it! Took me right at 2 hours to change all 8. Best 96 bucks I've spent on this old truck to date!!

gm recommend either adding up to 500 pounds in the box or live with the shake
i have a 2005 silverado crew cab standard box, had the dreadful shaking of entire truck when hitting bumps, after research and seeing that GM says its absolutely normal, however they recommend either adding up to 500 pounds in the box, or their latesed was to replace the rear most cab mounts with something stiffer that they sell, well I purchased this kit, installed in about an hour, ya having a lift made it easier. what a difference, the truck rides like a new one now, items in door pockets dont rattle all over, passenger seat doesnt vibrate, and most of all the frame shake is mostly gone to a much more acceptable level that a 3/4 ton truck should ride like.

Worked great and really improved the squeaks and rattles
Worked great and really improved the squeaks and rattles. These are for the oval metal bushing that you must reuse. You need to take off the lower bushing on an old cab mount and if the metal piece in the top bushing is oval this will work, if round they have a different part number as they are not interchangeable. You can get to the front mount by reaching up from the front wheel well, the bolt is on top behind your running lights if you don't want to remove the lights.
