With products like this. I don’t actually open to use for a week night dinner. I keep the #10 cans in storage for emergency use. However I have had this in the backpacking pouches and it’s fairly good. In an emergency situation this is a great option all you need is hot water and 10 minutes and you have a hot comforting meal. The quality is great the flavor is good, yeah it’s not homemade but it’s not bad. As for the value. Can you put a price on going hungry? Actually the price I got was cheaper than from mountain house itself.This arrived on time and was packed good to protect it during shipping so there was no damage to the can. I’ll be getting more in the future

This is one of the favorite Freeze Dried entrees I've tried. Makes a good meal as is and can be a base for adding fresh meat and veggies to extend the quantity

Haven’t tried yet…prep planning. Company has high reputation esp as to the good taste of meals. Bot several different flavors for variety.

Was a good soup, meat hydrates easy and quick cook.

I actually bought this can for emergency prep, but for camping I've gotten the individual packs for about $10. which hold two servings (2.5 servings for me). Texture is a bit chewier than homemade stew but weighs almost nothing so it's a happy trade-off. I could eat this any day, it is quite tasty - most Mountain House products are, I just wish they weren't so fond of bell peppers so prevalent in their other products.Plus can has a 25 year shelf-life so will probably outlive me! ;-)
