Great value
I got these glasses for riding my motorcycle. I wanted a dark lens, with side protection. These glasses fit well, the earpieces are bendable to maximize the fit. One of the rubberized side covers on the earpiece has a tendency to slide up slightly from time to time, but it's easily fixable. The lanyard and side shields are of good quality. I've had these for 2 years now and they got regular wear during spring and summer. The lenses have remained remarkably scratch free, I tend to be a bit hard on glasses, and they are easily cleaned with a lint free cloth for lenses. They say not to wear them while driving, and I can understand why. The lenses are very dark, but I find them perfect in all but low light (evening driving). They provide excellent glare reduction and high contrast.I'll buy these again. Fantastic value for the price. Perhaps not terribly stylish in some people's opinion, but they are highly functional and highly recommended.

Great sunglasses!
Awesome sunglasses for the price. These are very dark, with full mirrored lenses and a sturdy metal frame. For those familiar with the 'shade' system used to standardize lens tinting, these are a 4. Most sunglasses, even good brands are a 3 at most. Glasses used for oxyacetylene torch welding are usually a 5-7. More powerful forms of welding (ARC/MIG/TIG) require a 9-12 shade or higher depending on the amperage used. Julbo states in the manual that these sunglasses are not recommended for driving, but I find that they work fine, especially in ultra-high glare situations like wet/snow covered roads. They turn an extremely sunny day into the filtered, yellow/orange light you usually see through summer storm clouds. If you're like me, and kept wishing that your standard sunglasses were just a little darker, these are what you're looking for. The side shields aren't distracting, and make it unnecessary to play with the visor in your vehicle when the sun is coming through the side windows. They're made or leather and are fully removable if the look or feel bothers you. The lenses are not polarized, as is common with most glasses designed for mountaineering. This allows the user to see the reflections from dangerous patches of ice before they're too close. Heavily chromed bumpers will definitely get you attention on a sunny day, but they're not unbearable. Another neat feature not described in the add, the ear pieces are flexible on the ends. This allows you to curl them back over your ears for maximum retention during vigorous activity. I've owned some very expensive sunglasses in the past. For the price, you can't beat these. I look forward to trying other Julbo models in the future.

Great darkening and very comfortable
I am completely satisfied with these Julbo Colorado Mtn Sunglasses. If it's daylight out I need strong sunglasses to be able to function, and these ones work even for me. These glasses filter out light much better than even my custom and prescription glasses -- the ones I had to beg the techs to add extra "darkening." The effect from the lens "color" did take a little getting used to, but its a minor and temporary quibble.I've read that these are men's glasses -- not necessarily. The styling and sizing does work unisex for some women -- if you're petite and have a thin face, these are very well likely not the glasses for you. Women who have wider/more rounded faces and prefer a less-tight fit are in luck. These are probably the most comfortable sunglasses I have ever owned. These glasses are plastic, but they seem quite substantial and take a lot of abuse. These aren't an expensive upgrade of your $5 Walmart sunglasses; instead, they are a more economical (and abuse-tolerant) version of your custom sunglasses.I loved these.

Excellent mountaineering glasses
This year, we have been doing more early season climbing in the mountains, and have been climbing on mixed snow and rocks. When it is sunny, over 10,000 feet elevation, and reflecting snow, it is torture on my eyes. I've been using just "regular" sunglasses up to this point, but realized I needed something stronger. I got these because of the spectron 4 lens, and I'm very happy with them. They are definitely darker than normal sunglasses, and everything is very clear when I wear them. It seems to remove a lot of glare, even though they are not polarized. In fact, you don't want to wear polarized glasses when climbing snow slopes because they can remove the glare of ice, which is something you definitely want to be aware of when climbing steep snow! Also, the flexible ear pieces are nice to get a custom fit, which is important when you don't want to keep fiddling with your glasses on a 60 degree snow slope! Lastly, they are very light weight, and don't bother me at all if I wear them all day. Just a note, Julbo states these should not be used for driving, but I find no problem when driving. In fact, I get a lot of relief from late afternoon low sun angles when driving with these on. Your eyes will adjust to the darkness of them, and it's a lot safer than being blinded by harsh sun.The only minor gripe is the removable side screens hit my face on the left side. I think that's because I'm an imperfect person (just ask my girlfriend, haha!), and my nose is not perfectly centered on my temples. Just something to be aware of, if they rub on your face it may be irritating. Also, I think these are made for people with larger heads, because they look HUGE on my face. The coverage is still quite good, but they don't look particularly "cool" when I'm posing for photos lol!Overall, I'm very happy with the functionality of the glasses, quite excellent for the price. They may not be the most stylish glasses out there, but I'm much more concerned about how they perform, and it excels at that.UPDATE 10/14: I ended up buying a different pair (Julbo Tensing M) since I really didn't like how enormous these are. These are still fine, but I will just use them at work when I'm in the field all day. The Tensing's are actually way lighter than these, and feel better on my face. I would only recommend these to people with HUGE heads...

Awesome glasses
As always with julbo.. man you can’t go wrong. The spec4 lenses are very good at blocking out the sun. I was expecting not be able to drive with these lenses but yes you can absolutely drive with the spec 4 tint and peripheral vision is not bad at all. It’s my second julbo pair of sunglasses and I’m never going back to anything else. Nope I’m not à mountaineer or even a hiker and I use them in everyday life and I am quite pleased.

Simplemente Extraordinarios

Decent enough
Unlike the title suggests, and the top review from Amazon.com, they are Plastic framed, not metal. They fit quite well, but I'm not convinced they are worth the money to be honest. What they are is light weight, reasonably fitting and therefore fulfil their role reasonably well. The lenses conform to standards for general sunglasses, but at this price you are not looking at specialist eye wear.To summarise, functional, reasonably priced. Mine were shipped from the US, so they may take a little longer to reach you than other stuff, but dispatch was prompt. Packing was minimal, but the supplied case seems adequate although it is huge compared to the frames, and is not entirely rigid, but quite inflexible.

fantastic for large faces
this set of glasses are great for those of us with oversized heads. all wraparound goggles never seemed to be comfortable. these fit a large head very well. as they are larger they don't really restrict peripheral vision but do help block out theta annoying glare that comes leaking from the sides
