Backpack that you can tell will last a LONG time!

Just got this backpack and I absolutely love it. I can easily see this thing lasting a really really long time. It's made of thick canvas that you would see on a military style sleeping bag for example. But due to it being a canvas rucksack and not like a nylon backpack, it is very flexible and will squish down like a very broken-in bag when you set it on the ground. The backpack looks great and when you fully open up the rucksack, wow it has an insane amount of room in it. Due to it being canvas its very comfortable on your back and the straps are as well. I have always been one to kind of collect backpacks as I see ones that I like, typically military style, but this one is by far my favorite right now and I am switching to it and can see myself staying with it for a very long time. Definitely my new favorite bag already. I've been taking this backpack to work so far and putting gear in it and I've been using it for just taking clothes, towels, glasses, chargers, and other basic things around town. Going to use it for street bike rides as well and honestly it's probably gunna be my backpack I use for everything now. I've yanked at all the stitching and seams and they aren't going anywhere. You can tell the canvas material is very strong feeling yet flexible. You can tell this is a very well made backpack that is going to last years. I can't believe this backpack was only $42. Absolutely love it.Note: The buckles are cosmetic and there are actually metal snaps underneath which I prefer because it would get old having to undo the buckles everytime. They seem very secure right now and I have no doubts that they will open up the canvas flap itself has some weight to it to hold it down/closed.I will update if there becomes any issues, but right now is this a steal of a backpack for the price.

Good bag it feels modeled after European military gear from the 80s and early nineties.

Actually feels like a quality bag, have bought a couple to build bug out kits for family. Lots of straps and buckles vs zippers which tend to break or get caught. Color schemes are great as well. Not a lot of padding on the straps but if you wear it right it won’t be an issue or you can do the old school way and duct tape sponges on the straps. It’s roomy even in the small version and have used it hiking.

Durable and spacious

9/2022: I have had this backpack since January 2017 and absolutely love it! This is my first and only review; that’s how much I love it. I have used and abused this thing. I primarily used it for school and traveling; I am always surprised at how much I can cram into the backpack. Pretty much anytime I need to carry a lot, this has come with me.There are little rips and frays on the bottom of the bag but this was only after I carried small, pointy pieces of metal for a sculpture I was making that it tore a hole, but that was 4 or more years ago and the hole has not gotten bigger. The other fraying on the bottom is expected after this many years of overstuffing and abuse. I used to cram a large ArtBin (15 x 10 x 7.75 inches) plus a couple books/binders and jacket inside, not counting the small pockets. Some people have mentioned that they’re surprised at how much can fit inside and I agree, the bag itself doesn’t look like it can fit as much as it does. Only after I REALLY overstuffed this bag (like had to force the clasps closed) over a period of a week did one of the metal clasps come undone. It was totally my fault and I think if you’re clearly stretching to close things, of course they will break; I ended up replacing it because the rest of the bag was worth it. It can also carry quite a bit of weight, though I’m not sure I would recommend doing it regularly. I carried a tool bag full of galvanized small steel pipes (30-40lbs) around along with other items and had no problems; I think my back took more damage than the bag. The arm straps at the top are completely intact after all this time which I think is incredible as this is usually where a backpack shows the first signs of damage for me.The smaller pockets definitely hold a lot themselves, but I wouldn’t recommend putting really small or loose things on the outside because they might fall out, more so if the large inner pocket of backpack is not very full. When it is more full I haven’t had this problem. The inner zipper pocket has about as much space as the large outer pocket but has a zipper where you can keep small things that might get lost. Side pockets can fit big bottles among other things. I used to wish that there were more zippered compartments so things would be more organized but now I like how versatile it is; I don’t have a lot of random compartments I don’t use because of odd sizes.Other reviews mention the backpack is flimsy, but it is not in terms of durability. It does not hold its shape, but it can be convenient if you’re shoving it into a trunk when you’re out of room. It can be a little annoying if you have nothing to lean it on so it can sit up right but I’ve always kinda considered that an aesthetic choice. Otherwise, it may be an issue if you’re carrying something fragile inside, I would recommend getting a case for those special items or using a binder for papers. I got a bag for my 16” laptop to keep it protected. I would also say that how you organize items in the bag will help alleviate some of the ‘flimsiness’. Placing the bottom flat on the ground and organizing large books in the back and smaller things in the front will help not only with how it sits but with how the items feel on your back when walking. I’ve had a few times where I didn’t do this and some things can feel a little awkwardly placed but it’s an easy fix.The adjustable straps can be loose and slowly untighten as you’re walking, especially if the bag is really heavy. However, there is a specific way to wrap the straps so that it stays in place. When I bought the bag I think there was a review that mentioned it but also my mom showed me how. I ultimately didn’t like it so locked in place and have gotten used to adjusting when I put it on, it’s very easy to adjust. Maybe there should be instructions provided on how to tie/lock it so it stays for people that want that.I don’t think I would recommend this bag for big cities, personally. It is pretty easy to get in and out of the bag, which is great for the user but also for everyone else. However, there are plenty of other backpacks that I would say the same for and have seen even less secure bags in the city so I’m sure it is a matter of preference. I don’t really have to worry about it since I don’t live in an area that has a problem with pickpockets.I remember before purchasing this I was regularly going through backpacks every year or 2. I purchased a similar style with a different company a year and a half prior to this purchase that had really horrible zippers, was nowhere near as spacious and was falling apart. The only reason I am now considering a new bag is because I spilled one part resin in the front pocket years ago and have not been able to get rid of it; it is always collecting gunk and I hate that it’s never clean. I also washed it with some jeans and now it looks even more permanently dirty. I may use this bag for dirtier jobs, but if I do I will be purchasing another. I am a little disappointed they have added their logo to the top flap, as I’m used to having my own pins all over it and I don’t like parading any brand but that is not a big deal. Maybe I’ll go for coffee color next time so I don’t have to worry about it getting dingy. I think this bag could last many more years and I would recommend it again and again!UPDATE 9/29/22: First Impressions of new bag:The bag seems just as well made as the first one. The snap closures seem to be more secure; I can feel a stronger snap when opening and closing and comparing to my old bag it appears to be a little bit bigger so they must be taking reviews into consideration. Sturdy, tons of room, classic style

I love this bag. It's almost perfect. I've been using it for months now and its great to just stuff all my things in. It's solid and the fabric is thick. It's a bit slumpy when you carry it, if that makes any sense. Like it's floppy. The one thing I'd like is a big inner pocket on the back side. That'd really tie it all together. It has a shortage of smaller pockets for organization. So I give it 4 stars. But it is a really great bag.

A great daypack/great customer service

I’ve had the backpack for about a month. This isn’t one of those expensive onebags with ergonomic backs, waterproofing, camera compartments, etc. However, this is a bag that you just love.I love how light it is and it folds very small when empty. Think more “mesh” bag as opposed to something that has its own structure. It is one big compartment inside so I bought an internal backpack organizer for some structure and compartmentalization. You could easily fit it within a larger backpack or a suitcase and use as a light daypack. It also seems decently sturdy as it’s made out of canvas. The sewing looks good, I carried a crate of beer in it with no problem. Also carry my large 16 inch laptop with no problem. It is pretty comfortable even when loaded. Easy to clean. The side pockets can easily accommodate a Nalgene bottle (30-40 fl oz). I would use that in cities or for light summer hikes. Great for minimalists. Looks like in the pictures. You would most likely need a storage organizer if you want to carry stuff other than clothes.Had a small problem with one of the detachable straps (my fault entirely). Contacted the seller from their website. They sent me a replacement and a spare with tracked mail. Great customer service.Knowing these restrictions and use cases: I would buy this again.
