Made in the USA !!!!

After a coworker gave me one of this knifes at work I didn't think much of it since it looks really cheap but after using it and sharpening it over and over sometimes like 5 to 10 times a day this knife is awesome . I collect knifes and use them daily so I know a little more than the average person about knifes and knife steels... the heat treat on this blade is perfect I run it on my worksharp field sharpener about 3 times and it's ready to go again ..i work in the industrial insulation business so i use this blade to cut cryogel, pyrogel, and temmat mostly but I don't hold back from anything and sometimes cut wire and aluminum metal with it as well . If you need a work blade that is well made and will get hair shaving sharp this is the one (and made in the usa)..... I've done a little modification to mine to be able to pierce ...i don't recommend anyone try doing this because it will ruin the heat treat .

Very sharp knife

Blade used to cut 1.5 in polyiso foam panels - cuts well with multiple passes. Handle is uncomfortable - not very ergonomic in shape and the long length of the blade makes you have to put more pressure on the wrist to cut - however for use on rockwool and fiberglass batts this works well. For polyiso I would stick with a retractable blade knife (the kind you snap off sections from) - this gives more leverage on the blade as you can adjust its length.Durability unknown at this point - have only done a few cuts so far, but blade is very sharp.A nice addition would be a sheath to store it...Cuts came out smooth. For comparison, I have a serrated blade I picked up at the orange store - made for cutting batts that is in my opinion better (handle is well designed), and less expensive.

Perfect paper cutter for book binding

This is a great knife. Perfect length for using on 12x18 paper when folding down to signatures for book binding. A little thick in the spine but good balance.I used the Parkway Home Original Rolling Knife Sharpener and this thing is RAZOR sharp.Really like this knife it is my new go to for my book binding.

Great insulation knife

I've been using the dexter knives for years. These Hyde knives are less expensive, easier to find and work just as well. I really like then and they're my go to big knife. Using a stone to sharpen them they last a little over a year maybe even closer to two years.

Appears to be surprisingly high quality for the price

Very happy with it so far. The initial quality appears to be great. So far, the blade is staying tight in the handle. Be warned, it comes with a quite sharp cutting edge (which is a good thing).
