Coastal Blues: Home decorating ideas inspired by seaside living

As the book was called coastal blues I expected more blue decorating ideas.

First let me say that this is just my personal opinion. Everyone's aesthetic is different so this might be a great book for a lot of people. I was looking for a book to help me decorate my coastal home and using shades of blue and other tropical colors. That is not what this book is. It is filled with pictures of very vintage rooms, sparse furnishings, neutral grays, beiges, and white, and almost no blue. While there are some pictures of a house in the Bahamas or Caribean, sorry can't remember, it is more along the lines of what you would find along the coast of New England or England. If you want to decorate with a lot of old straw hats, vintage dark rocky seascapes, peeling wood furniture, sea shells in vintage curio cabinets, bare floors, etc. this will be the book for you.

Love this book for the beautiful pictures and great as a coffee table book in my beach house.

I received this book today, looked through it and realized that I had seen the pictures before. This book was originally published in 2008 and I bought it then. Not only are there almost no blue pictures in it, the book is totally dated. The fact that this is a re-release of an old book should have been made clear up front. What a waste of money. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

It is exactly as described in the subtitle:"Home decorating ideas inspired by seaside living"It has been out a while, and reprinted, but the style and designs are timeless.It is not all blue designs, but the blue/assure sea theme is referenced as a subtle background theme throughout.Well worth owning, and not expensive for a hardcover.

this is just a rehash of a book released years ago which should have been included in information very disappointed
