Super easy to install and works great!
Have an old Standard brand toilet that always ran intermittently. Years ago had put in one of those flapperless flush systems that's a cylinder that sits in the drain seat, but even that ran sometimes because it would move and needed some reseating occasionally. When the flush handle on that unit broke and needed repairing, I would have replaced it but my water shutoff for the toilet tank was stripped and wouldn't shut, so we had to call a plumber. While he was there we asked him to fix the flusher too, and he put in this ball thing that lifted from and settled into the drain seat. Of course, it almost never settled right and the drain would leak causing the toilet to run all the time. This kit was truly great- easy to use and installed great! No more running! The worst part was cleaning the inside of the tank, which was pretty grimy. But the adhesive stuck pretty good on the rim of the old drain seat.

What's not to love?
First of all I don't like to do any kind of plumbing repair. I'm not patient enough and I tend to over-torque. I don't like all the steps and I really wish someone else would take care of these repairs for me...free-of-charge.My late husband used to do the all of the plumbing repairs including occasional boiler repairs (OK, he had a heating license and was a general contractor so that meant I had to jump through hoops to get him to make a household repair that didn't affect him also.)Fixing this old but new looking toilet was a job he was not interested in tackling. He even told me many years ago that there was no flush kit for this model because it was so old. (But then when we were first married he also told me that his uncle a poultry specialist at Ohio State was working on developing a 150# turkey and he was offended when I didn't believe him, going to great acting-hurt lengths to make it a matter of marital honor that I accepted his word. Needless to say, his uncle had a wonderful laugh at my expense when I met him for the first time and inquired about the 150# turkey project.) You'd have thought this turkey would have learned but I still believed that there was no replacement flush kit.So for years I did makeshift repairs on the toilet in my bathroom, hoping they would be good enough but eventually that old rubber turned to crumbling rock and I had to do something because there was no seal left and water was running through.I bought something at HD that didn't work although I thought it would. And because I now had the old Fluidmaster flusher out, I could read the details of manufacture. Suddenly I didn't have to believe my husband. I Googled the imprinted words I had found and discovered this 555c replacement kit.The toilet tank was already drained and totally dry - make sure of that first or the adhesive (which looks for all the world like plumber's putty) won't stick well. I read the instructions, actually followed them precisely and within minutes - shorter than the time it took to type or read the stuff above - my toilet was flushing better than ever after a quick chain length adjustment. The instructions are straight-forward and easy to follow. (Obviously fool-proof or I wouldn't be writing this review.)The design is just a bit different than the one on original toilet but that one was well over 50 years old and this one seems to be an improvement.I expect this kit to last for many years. It has been working beautifully, quietly and efficiently for a couple of months now.2016 addenda: it is time for a slight adjustment which may not be the fault of the flapper but the tank/water setting.

It works as advertised
It is a 5 minute fix as advertised. I wish I would've pulled my existing flush valve first though, it had accumulated lime scale causing it to slowly leak and it will be reusable once cleaned .

Works
Works for me. Took some time for the adhesive to adhere so well it stopped leaking. Despite rather forceful pressure. It did stop leaking and work though within 2 hours.

Has stopped the slight leak with the toilet flapper valve
I had replaced just the flapper valve a few months ago, but again had the flapper valve leak reappeared. So I decided to try this repair kit which provides both a new valve seat and a new flapper valve. Very easy to install: just drain the tank, remove the flapper valve, wipe-off and dry the existing valve seat, remove the paper over the sealant on the bottom of the repair seat, center over the existing valve seat at an angle where their won't be any interference with the flapper valve operation and press down to seal it to the existing valve seat. So far it works perfectly and not experiencing any leakage.

Easy Fix
Super easy to install. I cleaned and dried the tank hole really well, applied new flapper and pressed firmly to adhere. So far,it seems to be working well. No more dripping or tinkling sounds so it must be sealing. I like the ease of the adjustment dial. I have it set on 1 and it's flushing fine. I also like how well it stays put even without using the "hooks" on the flush valve. One hook is broken off but they are not needed with this flapper. I hope this flapper lasts a while. But its not expensive and was so easy to install, I wont mind doing this again when needed. So thankful I didn't have to call a plumber or take the tank off!

Didn't work, waste of time.
Never sealed in the slightest. Had even went as far as cleaning the inner tank seal area with 99% alcohol thoroughly before install. Water just poured around it. Has a weak glue on top of a moldable / easily destroyed putty, no mechanical hold.
