Deluxe Scalpel Handle #8, Stainless Steel (Fits Size #60, #70 Scalpel Blades)

Stainless steel handle, hollow in construction, light weight and easy to handle. Very well made very tight tolerance to hold your blades tight and securely. I use mine for larger #60 blades. Very comfortable in the hand. Square handle shape with beveled corners, no sharp edges or corners. Very smooth, brushed finish. Very strong, solid feel in the hand for easy and smooth control. Excellent value for the price. I will buy a couple more just for backup. Hopefully they have these in other sizes as well.

These are basic scalpel handles and they need fit 60 and 70 blades very well. I will note the burnishing on one model was a little rough. However, for my intended use this is not a defect. That they hold the blades tight and they fit well in my hand is what's most important. I'm using these for crafting, boxes, and occasionally plant field grafting not for sterile surgical. I intend to use a little greater force than a typical surgical use so I want a relatively burly steel handle.

The havalon 60 blades do not fit flush into the handle because the handle is not precision ground as mentioned in the description and as shown in the picture. I do not know if I received a defective item. I ordered a replacement to give them the benefit of doubt.For now, I would not recommend it to anyone.Edit:-----I received a replacement, which fits the Havalon 60 blade a little better. But this product is definitely not precision ground. And what is worse about this replacement is that it has stains and scuffs, and looks used.I do not recommend this product at all.

In purchasing German Steel product the hope is to have a quality product. We were not able to use these even once due to rusting in the blade slots with the first steam sterilization
