Q: What weight is the paper (durability/thickness weight?) I am looking at another paint paper that is 60lb and am wondering how it compares to yours.

Hi, finally the answer to your question about the Strathmore Kids. It is about half the weight of 140#. So, fairly thin. It has one texture on one side of the watercolor paper and a smoother texture on the other side of the paper. No, it is not 140#. But I think it is great for kids. And I have used this weitgt of paper a lot and it makes beautiful watercolors, but it does wrinkle and has to be ironed after it dries to get it back to the smooth paper again.

Q: Can you use this paper with crayons?

It is made for finger painting so it has a waxy finish. Also too expensive for crayrons.....just buy cheap computer paper for color drawing with crayons

Q: why are there no project ideas inside?

Why would there be project ideas inside? It's a paper notebook . . . nice pages with space for writing and space for drawing.
