DEWALT Random Orbit Sander, Variable Speed, 5-Inch (DWE6423)

I recently purchased the DEWALT Random Orbit Sander, and it has completely transformed my woodworking projects! Purchased for sanding wood crafts. Works great. Easy and comfortable to use. Fits your hand well. Dust collector is a nice feature as well to keep area relatively clean while using.

Great sander and brand.

This is my seconded Dewalt oscillating sander. The 1st one lasted over 20 years before giving up. The new sander is easier to put mu hand on while in use. The speed control. Allows me to do pick the speed I want to. Use. This is very handy when I am smoothing out finishes in wood without taking too much off. The velcro latch system is quite convenient for changing out sandpaper. The attached dust collector actually does a good job. It is not there for show. I am assuming the new model is as durable as the one I replaced. This is important since Iam a bit clumsy and have drop0ed the old one severL times without issue.Over time the velcro pad wears out. The replacement pads @re readily available at very reasonable prices. The only criticism I had on the old model was the on/off switch needed to be replaces 3 times. Although it was extremely easy to do, and not expensive at all, it was inconvenient to have to wait for it to come in the mail.I would highly recommend this sander to anyone who needs a good sander that lasts.

I like the design and balance. Good vibration dampening. Dust collection works better than most I have used. The only Con is that it did not come with a bag as represented in the advertisement.

If you don’t have a problem with the sound it’s a good sander. It comes with a dust collector but in order to use your vacuum system you will have to purchase an adapter for another 10.00 or so! It also only has one speed which is no problem for most of my applications.

This sander is well made and doesn't vibrate your whole arm. The dust collector is great and gets about 90% of the dust. I've used this sander for hours on end for woodworking, metalworking, and auto body and it's the best sander I've purchased to date. Lightweight, easy one handed operation, small size for getting into tight areas, never gets hot, and my hand and arm are not fatigued after using for a long time. Very easy to square this sander to the surface your working on without creating low spots or waves.

This sander works so well I gave away my old Ryobi after using for one project. Getting a shop vac attached took a little creativity, but it was worth it. I sanded both sides of about 25 square feet of Redwood glue-ups with a single 80 grit 3M Xtract Net Disc 710W disc. The panels are ready for finish and the disc is still good. If you've never used one of these newer 3M discs, please do. You will be amazed at how long they last.
