The Autobiography of Theodore Roosevelt

very readable and enjoyable
Watching the TV series "Elkhorn," I became interested in Theodore Roosevelt's life. This autobiography is very readable, well organized, enjoyable, and the TV series is including many historical incidents even tho they are changed a bit. i.e., the grizzley that TR actually shot when he was alone and had to pack out the slippery hide is changed in the TV series so that one of his ranch hands is along, and the packing out is not included in the TV series. But both versions are action packed and exciting. Roosevelt is a good writer.

The best of the best
I picked up this book from my own library for the first time thinking I'd give it a quick glance. I couldn't put it down. The more I read this man's story, the more I wanted! Not only was he an excellent and profound writer, he was a totally honorable man in a world filled with dishonesty and danger. The parallels to what we are seeing in our country today were very much present 100 years ago when Roosevelt was around. This should be a 'must read' for every American, old or young. It will change the way you see everything, I guarantee it.

Should be required reading
President Roosevelt remains one of, if not the most, fascinating presidents ever elected to lead the United States. He is incredibly well written. I find myself underlining wisdom on nearly every page. A sobering reminder of the moral character once required to run a country.

Completely satisfied!
It's great! Fast shipping (per usual with Amazon), book was in perfect condition when it arrived, made a great gift for my Dad's 70th birthday, as a life long Republican and history buff!

An honest window into the history of this man in his own words.
I liked reading the story of his times, in his own words

Full of insight, written with erudition. Roosevelt's breadth ...
Full of insight, written with erudition. Roosevelt's breadth of knowledge in a broad range of disciplines is little known today, but it contributed to his keen analysis of the problems that faced the nation then and still do today.

the book seemed to ramble all over the place
It was very disappointing as the book would be telling about a part of Roosevelt's life and then be discussing some other part and just ramble on before coming back to the main subject. I was so tired of the rambling that I just put the book away.
